I was thinking about breaking into gamedev via a roguelike. An actual roguelike with some twists instead of """roguelike""" elements being slapped onto another genre. Particularly I was thinking abilities with hit-tile patterns like a tactics game that encourage behaviors other than squatting in a doorway.
