A lot of people have this vision of Japan as every adult over the age of 21 being an office drone when Japan has loads of industries that aren't those. The only place you're finding those wageslave offices are in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Sendai, and Sapporo. The rest of Japan actually has a normal work culture, and they have much more children as a result. Even though a large chunk of their children end up moving to Tokyo or Kyoto or etc to live the dream, those areas are still decently close to replacement rate.
