I don't know how people can beat this game.
>>
It's built around being a unfun as possible. You just have to hate yourself enough to keep going. Unironic trial and error garbage where every even remotely cool thing you can find will kill you.
>>
using the wiki. it's a wiki game
>>
>>740244976
Skill issue
>>
>>740244803
>learn how to make even mediocre wands
>don't eat every shot and explosive in the world
It's not rocket science unless you want it to be.
>>
>>740244803
I just throw dynamite into the potion shop to watch the slop dissolve half the level and then restart so I can do it again.
>>
Is there after run progression in this game or is it like StS where every run is totally fresh
>>
>>740244976
Kill yourself.
>>
>>740244803
by playing it
>>
>>740244803
Shoot the enemies
Don't get hit
It's that simple
>>
>>740244803
Do not use the wiki. Do not look for guides. Do not let people play the game for you. Just play the game. That's all you have to do.
>>
>>740245232
There's some unlocks strewn around the world, but they only add stuff into the drop pool. No permanent character upgrades besides some cosmetics

keep playing until you win
rng eventually helps
most deaths are the player's fault
if you disagree with any of this, post your death count
>>
>>740245626
I disagree
>rng eventually helps
If you need luck to win you need to get better.
>most deaths are the player's fault
Almost all deaths are the player's fault.
>>
>>740245883
>rng eventually helps
>If you need luck to win you need to get better.
you're missing the point, which is that you don't need to be good to win
>>
>>740244803
What do you mean by beat?
Killing Kolmi or any of the less accessible late-game content?
>>
>>740245964
You know what? Fair.
I'll need to update my way of thinking now to
>with luck you might win
>with skill you can win
>with knowledge you can do anything
>>
>>740244803
Start > Get heart/Tablet > Mines > Fungal Caverns > Snow cave > Surface > Bridge boss if plasma > Piramid > Heart under tree if hurt > Alchemist > Hut by the lake for wand edit
If you are ok at wandcrafting by that point you can take on most of the game even if you dont get good shit, keep an eye out for Ambrosia, Any tele liquid and Pheromoan for hissi healer
>>
>>740244803
Like all rogueslop, you just keep replaying and rolling the dice until the RNG gives you a run that you can win.
>>
>>740247294
Start > disregard everything and go to the first holy mountain > collect pacifist chest that has nothing in it > do you have a chainsaw, black hole, or teleport spell? If no, just fucking kill yourself and start over
>>
>>740244803
Luck into a method to heal yourself reliably, then the game's easy. It's really just a hallway of chip damage (polymorph bullshit notwithstanding)
>>
>>740247914
you miss all kinds of interesting seeds by doing that, it's like you don't want to see accidental void liquid or hiisi nukes
>>
>>740244803
>I don't know how people can beat this game.
It's not that hard if you what you're doing. Make a strong wand that doesn't hurt yourself, and move on to the next holy mountain before your health gets too low. The great majority of enemy attacks can be avoided by moving perpendicular to them.
>>
>>740245883
>Almost all deaths are the player's fault.
Yeah, the record for proven win streaks is over 400 consecutive wins. Good players can win consistently even with horrible luck
>>
i usually just hack out one of the RNG mechanics and then have fun. like getting unlimited rerolls. of course you can actually get unlimited rerolls via fucking with the game mechanics too.
>>
>>740248352
>start a match
>entering first zone
>haven't even gotten off the slope
>some nigger shoots me with a nuke

I have over 200 hours in this game and my game cycle consists of getting strong enough to go to the mushroom zone and exploring until I die or kill myself there. I have never once even seen the final boss in my entire life.
>>
>>740248981
sounds like FTL. So, then there's a meta the player need to uncover, either through trial and error or reading a wiki, to win consistently? I like FTL but still think it is bullshit design that 90% of all ship augments are worthless if not detrimental. Is there some equivalent here where almost all of the spells are shit?
>>
>>740248981
>wins
pretty worthless metric considering how easy it is to find OP shit if you know how, also tons of "easy" wins possible.
>>
>>740248981
it's also a knowledge thing, if you're good with alchemy you can fix a bad start
>>
>>740249630
Most spells are useful but you kinda need certain wands or other utility spells to really make em pop.
>>
>>740244803
It's easy to beat the game. You just play with wands, shoot enemies, and dodge attacks. Once you learn how to make a good wand without killing yourself with it you can get to the bottom fairly reliably.
If you consider all the extra shit as beating the game though the answer is
>lmao good luck
>>
>>740249758
>If you consider all the extra shit as beating the game
that is literally what "beating the game" means. The game can do absolutely nothing that you can't overcome.
>>
>>740249824
The game can absolutely overcome my desire to see it through.
>>
>>740249630
There are some similarities. There are a lot of dubious spells and some spells that are obviously amazing. Unlike FTL, this is an action game so if you play well you can consistently defeat your enemies or at least escape even when severely under equipped. One of the keys to consistent success is to avoid or escape from fights that are likely to cost you more than they benefit you.

>>740249684
That's why win streaks are a good skill metric. Anyone can luck into a god wand and win now and again, but if someone won 10 games in a row it probably wasn't luck.
>>
>>740249758
The post game / side content is easy once you make it to a parallel world. The challenge is all in the main game where you won't have 50,000 health and 100 extra lives
>>
>>740249758
Yeah that extra shit is where it becomes unbearable.
Go through death mountains to get to different worlds to get better wands to maybe, if youre lucky, stumble on the specific circumstances you need to 100% "win" without dying because if you die its back to starting completely fresh.
>>
>>740250183
>streaks are a good metric because you can just use one of the easier win methods
>>
>>740244803
for me, it's lightning
>>
>>740244803
Simple.
>keep going down
>kill the boss with your insane machine gun wand
>ignorance is bliss
>win...?
>>
>>740250480
If you can even make it to one parallel world the rest should be a cinch. Take the 50% more health, stainless armor, and repelling cape perks a bunch of times and nothing can do real damage to you except a few gimmick events and bosses. Take a bunch of force fields to reduce the chances of getting hit with a polymorph shot and take more love 4x so nothing will want to kill you even if you get sheeped. And get a bunch of extra lives just in case. Beyond that just check the wiki before you engage new bosses because some have dumb gimmicks that can instant kill you. I agree that the postgame is tedious but it's easy once you get going.
>>
>>740244803
I mean, define beat. You can definitely turn to gold without knowing how the mechanics of the game work, even a dumbass like me did, and it took less than a dozen runs. If you want to loop or go to another universe, get all the tablets, yeah I have no idea how people regularly do that without mods or sinking hundreds of hours into the game.
>>
>>740250596
>streaks are a good metric because you can just use one of the easier win methods
It's not perfect because if you really want to you can dig past most of the danger in the game, but literally everything in Noita can be cheesed. The alternate endings take way longer but aren't much harder than the basic ending.
>>
>>740250949
How does the parallel world stuff work anyways I've never even tried...
>>
>>740250683
I'm a spark bolt or triplicate bolt machine gun enjoyer
>>
>>740244803
Aside from learning how to make better wands, you really just need to play it like a SWAT game where you go slow and room clear every enemy and hazard extremely piecemeal. If you have a good enough wand you can do it, but the Hiisi base and Vault are the two big "have an appropriate wand by this point" levels
>>
>>740251069
yeah, babysitting a fucking sun is just about as easy as killing the immobile boss.
>>
>>740250596
>>740251069
That's why most people have shifted to No Skip, No Overworld rules for winstreaking.
>>
>>740251107
If you go to the east or west edge of the world you get to a solid stone wall. If you dig through it you start hitting cursed rock which damages you. If you make it out of the other side, you get another world, very similar to the first one, and you can go to that world's holy mountains and get more perks along with wands and health and everything else. There are nearly infinite parallel worlds and with enough resources you can become nearly immortal and travel between worlds very quickly for even more perks.
>>
>>740251262
Holy thats insane
>>
>>740251243
Yeah that's how I play too

>>740251224
With enough perks the only thing that can realistically kill you is polymorph. You can sit inside the sun as long as you want with greek letter circle of vigor and saving grace.
>>
>>740251814
Yeah it requires some very specific shit to be able to do it properly with minimal risk of dying but its the only way to get the true ending and it takes hours and a fuck tonne of know how.
>>
>>740245021
everything that needs to be said itt. i'm a shitter and even i beat beat kolmi multiple times. apply yourself.
>>
>>740251137
triplicate bolt machine gun is underrated
>>
>Doing sun, 15 hour run
>Solid 50k health, 8x armor, gas blood, all regular immunities obviously, take negative projectile damage
>Main attack method is a damage field wisp, with electricity (spark bolt based)
>Just killed ghost boss, heading to pyramid by blasting through underground at supersonic (liquid detonation on travel wand so no worries of poly, and regular poly is fungal shifted away anyway)
>Passing through west side wizard den
>Wisp fucks off
>Whatever, it does that
>It found a fucking swapper
>Swapped between two nullifiers, they are inside my 5 layers of force field and shoot before I have time to react
>Bye bye immunities
>Wisp returns for just long enough to stun me, then fucks off
>Poly mage falls down from room above
>Sheeped
>Wisp kills all the mages and then me
>>
>>740244803
You die until you rng some broken combo, and then it's easy. You just got to suffer the grind and repeat
>>
>>740251978
the real issue with sun quest is trying to kill yourself after if you got too strong
>>
>>740253226
I hate those fucking swappers

okay, THIS is the run
33 orbs here I come.
>>
>>740244803
I struggle for weeks for my first win
Ended up being chainsaw with bouncing spells
Then some weird mist wand
>>
>>740244803
Noita is a dogshit game
T. Crown wearer
Going down the hole and doing the basic bitch ending is fun and the highlight of the game.
Thats like 14% of the game.
The other 86% is slowly waddling around / tping an empty ass world while being basically immortal and enemies dont even aggro you while looking for small ass orbs or moving suns.
Its a chore, the game would unironically be better if the world was handcrafted and the roguelite elements were a sidemlde
>>
>>740244976
That's the worst part about it. I bought the damn game in EA because OH COOL LOOK AT THIS WIZARD SHIT PEWPEW RANDOM DUNGEONS YEEEEEEEEEEAH and then I swear every fucking update was just adding retarded niche hidden shit
>>
>>740253962
Forgot to mention every non hole run is a fucking slog until you get a tp bolt. Then its just a regular run that takes +4 hours to beat. And god forbid you dont find a tp bolt or black hole
>>
>>740244803
I played the fuck out of this game a couple years ago and reached a point in the jungle setting area I just kept being killed at and it became too repetitive.
>>
>>740244940
>that moment you get nuked offscreen and realize the wah youre meant to plat this game is being as much of a pussy as possible eliminating dudes 1 by 1 or nuking entire screens
>>
>giga sawblade stops on a direct hit against enemies
>but if it kills them with the tiny bit of proximity damage it does before hitting them, it'll bounce off their corpse and fly back at you
I love and hate this spell so damn much.
>>
>>740253962
The main dungeon with the basic gold ending is the main game and it's great, and tremendously replayable. Doing the tower for the poisoned gold ending is good if you want some postgame content
The other stuff is just gimmick content you check out once or twice. It's mostly bad but Noita isn't really worse off for having it.
>>
>>740244803
By using the wiki. The game is designed to be played with a wiki open at all times to figure out all the esoteric bullshit that people randomly discovered. It's very inorganic.
>>
>>740244803
It's a great game if you're a masochist

it's one of the coolest games ever made
and only about 0.0000001% of gamers can take it

also mina is a girl

i feel sorry for people that spoil themselves on games like this. you can only play such a masterpiece fresh once.

bro
>>
>>740257213
>not having all invulnerabilities before kicking the minecart
>>
>>740257213
That last hit was not really the player's fault, but the last hit is not the entirety of what killed him. A giant worm bite only does 25 damage. It was the player's fault for badly fighting that robot at low health instead of going to the next holy mountain to heal. It was almost certainly the player's fault for being at low health to begin with.
