I've been on Steam for 15 years, but I want to start fresh and make a new account. My reasoning for this is mainly because I don't like my library. I'm curious to get second opinions from anons. When I first joined Steam, it was just to be able to play Portal. Then a few years later, I accumulated a ton of crappy shovelware through some rewards program. Some good stuff mixed in, but I definitely overwhelmed myself. Afterwards I got a job and bought more than a few games, but it got way out of hand and I haven't touched most of them even after all this time. Now, you might ask why I did that, and the answer is I wasn't thinking about whether or not I really wanted any of these games. To this day, my most-played games list is pretty embarassing, at least to me. I look at what games other people play the most and get very self-conscious. Especially because I have lots of good games I could have spent time playing and just chose not to, instead focusing on chore simulators and incremental stuff. An example: I have yet to play Dark Messiah or System Shock 2, while I have 80 hours in Euro Truck Simulator 2. (which is ironically lower than the average, but I digress)According to Steam Calculator, I only have 1300 hours in all my games since 2011, and my account is valued at just $800. Considering some people have that amount of time in just one game, and have probably spent 10x that amount in a single year, I genuinely don't think I'm losing that much in the grand scheme. I don't have any VAC bans, by the way. Should I follow through? I realize this is probably OCD but it has been on my mind for quite some time.
op sucks dick and is a faggot
>>740245125You can delete shit games from your steam library.
You can hide games from your public library and profile. You can also ask steam support to just straight up remove them from your account if you really want.No one is gonna look at 1300 hours over 15 years and think you're a loser because you didn't spend more of your limited time on earth playing games.
This sounds retarded but do whatevr you want its your life
>>740245125imagine how much free time you must have to think of useless shit like this. we need a war ASAP you fucking faggots are unbelievable.
>>740245316>No one is gonna look at 1300 hours over 15 years and think you're a loser because you didn't spend more of your limited time on earth playing games.I'm reading this and thinking this right now. OP, stop being a loser that doesn't play games.
>>740245125just kill yourself
>>740245436Aren't there like 5 concurrent wars going on right now?
>>740245660not my problem
>>740245125Why start fresh? Like another anon said, you can just remove games from your library. Plus, sometimes Steam removes games from sale so you might have some gems in there that aren't available on the Steam store anymore.>I haven't touched most of them even after all this timeI think that's pretty much every Steam user ever.>I look at what games other people play the most and get very self-conscious.It's just vidya, dude. I don't think real people care at all about what you're playing.
take meds now
>>740245125>I've been on Steam for 15 years, but I want to start fresh and make a new account. My reasoning for this is mainly because I don't like my library. I'm curious to get second opinions from anons. You have high IQ, like me. I already did this recently, I only buy (and rebuy) S-Tier games on my new Steam account.
This is the gayest thread I've ever seen
>>740245125>>740246217If you told me you did this I would think worse about you than someone who has 12000 hours in vrchat
>>740245125Holy autism
>>740245125I definitely had this thought before and think you should instead attempt to let go of neuroticism, hide games you think are shit shovelware, add worthy titles to your favorites or filter by installed etc. The clean slate is largely illusory and I think you would more than likely end up where you are now or close to it, you'll just be throwing money out the window to feel 'clean' for a bit. Better in the long run to realize it doesn't matter if your most played titles are patrician, that type of thinking is very juvenile. Lastly and I'm not saying this is the case for you but personally I believe that this starting over afresh with a clean slate type of thinking was for me at least partly linked to suicidality
>>740245125hey OP you dumb cumdrinkergo to settings, put your profile on private and your donewhat the fuck are you even talking about
>>740246217why?
>>740246895I don't care, I don't want garbage on my Steam account. I love opening my new Steam account and only seeing my S-Tier game and superior taste.
>>740247682>why?After two decades of gaming, I have acquired perfect taste in gaming and can accurately recognize and predict which games will suck and which games won't based on analyzing the gameplay and the design choices of the developers. When you reach this level, your outlook changes. I have a very low tolerance now for games that aren't perfectly catering to me.Sekiro, Armored Core VI and Ninja Gaiden 4 permanently changed my outlook on gaming, these games were literally 100% made to cater to me, I can't go back anymore.
>>740246217>Shallow KnightYou already fucked up. Start another account.
>>740248385ok but why did you make a new steam account and bought the same games again? do you have some sort of mental illness? they way you type already tells me you have some sort of autism
>>740246217>Souls autism>Ninja Gaiden autism>Metroidvania autismThe unholy trinity of autism, impressive.
>>740245125Just make a new one and put your old one in a family share link togetherso you can access majority of your old games.
>>740248532>ok but why did you make a new steam accountI already answered this. When I open up Steam and it automatically goes to my library and I only see my S-Tier games and superior taste, it gives me a very good feeling. No, hiding games or deleting games on my old Steam account wouldn't give me this feeling, it would be fake, the past had to be purged, a new beginning was necessary.>and bought the same games again?99% of the gaming industry is on my black list, so I have way more leftover "gaming money" to spend now, so I didn't mind re-buying my favourite games. I rarely buy new games, because of my superior taste and high demand, 2026 was already an amazing year because I got both Ninja Gaiden 4 and Hollow Knight: Silksong.>do you have some sort of mental illness? No, I have a high IQ and when I was a kid I was in an accident and hit my head really hard, both of these played a role in me becoming who I am today, I perceive and understand things others can not. Usually, people will dismiss me as mentally ill or dumb, I don't hold it against them, a snake can never perceive and comprehend what an eagle perceives and comprehends.
>>740249202>20262025*
>>740249202>ninja gaiden 4>superior tastelol
>>740249425>MondainaiNinja Gaiden 4 was a purification for my gaming Soul, one of the best games I have ever played in my life.
>>740245125I have hard OCD, and I'm here to tell you that once you start, you will never stop. You will keep making new accounts as soon as the old one starts bothering you, I know because I been there and done the same. I have many burner phone numbers, mails, steam and even twitch accounts. I stopped using Steam altogether and just pirate games now. Shame because I want to play with my friends sometimes but it's better this way.Try to hide your unwanted games, and forget about it for a while. Trust me you don't want this.
>>740249202bro everyone thinks you are retarded (you probably are), but i guess do what makes you happy
>>740245125You are giga autistic but you can just remove games from your account
>>740249625>bro everyone thinks you are retarded (you probably are)If this is what being retarded feels like, I don't mind.>but i guess do what makes you happyThanks, I will.
>>740245125I don't think making a new steam account will change anything, unless you sell your current account so you can't have it anymore. Still I think it won't work and you'll buy the same games again. As other anons have said, just hide the shovelware. You want to play those games so you can have good taste, but you don't enjoy them. You can change your tastes intentionally if you want, just play the games bored and you'll enjoy them eventually. Or accept your tastes for what they are, either way it won't change much that you'll be able to tell.
My top played is full of normalfag co-op slop. It’s a little embarrassing but I wouldn’t torch my whole account over it.
>>740249202Ride on head injury explains it all anon
>>740249202>when I was a kid I was in an accident and hit my head really hard>a snake can never perceive and comprehend what an eagle perceives and comprehends.godspeed anon, i wish you all the best on your journey
>>740245125you can hide games you have no intention of playing from yourself and from others.
>>740245125I used to think like this then realized I just needed to get over myself. Trying to doctor a “perfect” top played list to impress strangers online is a pathetic waste of time. Nobody else cares this much.
