What shield do I use for a sorc in NM difficulty?

do normal cows for a monarch shield and use the socket item reward from Larzuk in A5 to make it 4 open sockets, you can then make a spirit shield which will carry you to hell if you have a spirit sword aswell. (same strat you can get a Crystal Sword base from normal cows). spirit runeword is extremely OP
Spirit is honestly way too good of a runeword, completely railroads all caster leveling
