This can be fixed if Mojang just implemented generation editors. Let me have vast seemingly endless forests that slowly change over thousands of blocks into mesas, which eventually lead into massive deserts which take days to traverse. Then let me tweak something where I revert to the cool cliffs of beta generation. Let me turn on or off different biomes. It shouldn't be hard, they just don't want to.
