>reach snowy mountain
>game turns into shit
>>
>snowy mountain tops of the giants
>no large mountains to climb just the same big cliffs like everywhere else
>>
what kind of retard built a castle underneath a cliff?

What is the point of having walls when someone can just sit up on the cliff and lob shit down into your castle from above?

FUCK YOU ELDEN RING IS THE GREATEST GAME OF ALL TIME
>>
>>740270718
Why did everyone get bored at the exact same location ? I can't explain it, I usually like snowy mountains, and I don't remember it being necessarily bad.
>>
>>740274206
Because modern "gamers" are crack heads and play for eight hours straight every night vs two to three hours on the weekend. Modern "gamers" have no souls, hence why almost all games being pumped out have no soul either.

Because the game prior to that point goes on for far too long. You finally reach the fabled land of the gods, the Erdtree and now your level-up guide tells you that you gotta do MORE shit to become Elden Lord. Secondly the most obvious one, there are no new enemies. This is supposedly a cursed, forgotten, unexplored, forbidden land and you see the same goddamn rats, skeletons, bats, fire monks, big flaming golems, wyverns and dogs from all the other areas before that. In dungeons and in the overworld.
>>
>>740274206
They didn't, they went on to the net and asked for how they should feel, and some aggressive person went on to spread that "everyone thinks this is the bad part" and so it had to be true.
>>
>>740274206
Because it's genuinely a bad zone. There isn't anything interesting there, it's missing a proper dungeon(no the shitty side dungeons don't count) and those are the highlights of the game. Even the boss is just kind of lame.
>>
>>740270718
jagged peak was a much better mountain desu even though it was kind of empty

You got the feeling of climbing high into the clouds with the increasing storm and red lightning around you.
>>
>>740274206
snow levels are ALWAYS shit
>slippery floors
>barren landscapes
>reduced visibility
>cold meter
>all vibrant colors replaced by mostly white
>freeze status that reduces speed
every game with a snow section has at least one of these
>>
>>740274779
Slidey floor puzzles are great in tile based RPGs.
>>
>>740274206
Cause it sucked. Recolored enemies and 2 needlessly large areas with barely any new enemy encounters.

>reach area where build starts to actually matter
>wwooooowww this sucks!
every time
>>740274206
because its the first real jump in difficulty where you get punished for wearing soreseals and having 25 vigor.
The weapon upgrade bell bearing is also in a basement in a fort on the side of the road and if you miss it and have low weapon upgrades enemies really start to feel like damage sponges, where as like 90% of the content before this point could be done with a +12 sword now you get punished if its not at least 18+ and you should be getting to +25 soon.

otherwise the zone is pretty straight forward with boss fight after boss fight in an almost linear path with a few branching alternatives. The last boss of the area is borderline gimmick boss tier and one of the easiest endgame bosses in the game but you get hardcore punished against him if you dont understand basic torrent mount and dismount mechanics ie quick mount/dismount, so naturally it is one of the most complained about bosses in the game.

there's no cool mountains to climb it was literally just the same plataus and cliffsides as the other areas. There's no variation, the painted world dlc from DS3 managed to capture being in the mountains better than this shit. They rushed it with the out of place Caelid enemies and magic hands from the lake
>>
>>740275051
Your build should have been done looooong before shitty snow land.

hey screw you pal I LOVE snow/winter levels. best part of any game
>>
>>740275494
yes and it is which is why snowlands is one of the more enjoyable areas on repeated playthroughs, its just one boss after another. the hate for it is overblown
>>
>>740274569
This was my experience. Its just like how all of the sudden like 8 years after it was out people just decided that the "second half" of Dark Souls is bad
>>
>>740275652
The bosses suck. None of the bosses in ER are good. The only good part of the game are legacy dungeons.
>>
>>740275663
Yeah it's only really the lava dragonbutts part of izalith and the boss that's bad. There's other cool parts to izalith, they just should have been bigger and more focused instead of the lava.
>>
>>740274569
i literally dropped the game at that point and so did my best friend without consulting each other
>>
imagine hitting the difficulty spike area at 80-100 hours and dropping it instead of gitting gud
>>
>>740275829
I didn't drop it myself, but I certainly started rushing through shit at that point. Just wanted it to be over.
>>740275891
>implying
Nigga the area is braindead, empty, and the boss is piss weak. It's one of the easiest areas in the game.
>>
>>740274206
Because Leyndell is the climax of the game. You spend the entire game gazing and marching towards the big tree, then you get there, and some bitch literally materializes and goes "oh but one more thing". It sucks the energy out of the player.
>>
>>740275991
sorry only people that finished the game are allowed to have an opinion as they're more informed
>>
>>740274206
It's when the game finally runs out of steam.
It still has a few surprises left, but by this point you have likely seen almost everything the game has left to offer.

Doesn't help that the area feels pretty empty.
>>
>>740275891
we don't have to pretend these games are hard anymore anon it's not 2011
>>
>>740276089
patience for slower areas is also a skill issue zoomie
>>
>>740276048
I did finish the game. Did you even read? The area is fucking empty, your build is basically done, and the boss is the generic fat fuck that you spend more effort dealing with the camera than the boss itself. It's a serious skill issue if you are struggling with anything there. If you wanted to talk about actually challenging bosses then the fucking furry in the next area is leagues more of a spike. Imagine thinking a lame giant is hard.
>>
>>740270718
I actually like this area.
>>
>>740276195
I mean it depends on your build, flame giant was harder for me than Maliketh but to each their own. I thought mountaintop of the giants was fun personally, eh. I don't see how it's empty. abyssal woods in SOTE felt more empty

the path to the foot of the tree should have been a boss rush to end the game

Gideon -> Godfrey shade -> Morgott/Godfrey fight O&S style

the snow areas are just meh, it's not just the boring enemies, the lore is meh as well.
>>
Smells like desert level fags in here

>>740276574
You need to fucking condense a good portion of the game. Limgrave, Caelid, Liurnia do not need to be as big as they are. You can practically omit Weeping Peninsula and just add Mourne Castle to the main Limgrave area, trim some of the fat. Caelid you can get rid of the dragon graveyard and upper area leading to Gurranq's Sanctum, its downright pointless. Liurnia...good lord that place is a slog of endless mangrove.
>>
>>740276719
The entire game would have been better if it was structured like DS instead of true open world. Cut all the shitty mini dungeons, cut the field, focus on tighter areas and a few more proper dungeon sections. Too much of the game is just padding.
>>
>>740276693
Blue eyes have the best nightvision and higher iqs

>Morgott/Godfrey fight O&S style

holy kino
>>

I disagree friend, I felt the open world was done well for ER and enjoyed exploring as it was a nice change of pace for a Fromsoft game :)

Snowy biomes are usually prettier and have snow-themed enemies, with Wukong or Skyrim being good examples. Elden Ring snow biome is ugly, with ugly-ass enemies like the giant-head dogs, giant birds and giant hands. Ithryll in DS3 was much better.
