I'm an old crusty fuck that's played the original multiple times and the remake's a completely fine way to experience it. It's harder to find secrets (If you don't already know they're there) in the remake and it's much, MUCH easier to overlook loot in the remake because it blends into the more fleshed out environments rather than being obvious sprites, but other than that the most notable difference in the remake is it has a stupid recycling system for cash money dollars for vending machines that didn't exist in the original. Which can sell weapon upgrades which didn't exist in the original. The weapon upgrades are fine and not even strictly necessary so for god's sake don't obsessively pick up every piece of trash for recycler creds
