A match for thor in combat, a match for kratos in combat, missed by everyone, loved by everyone, respected by everyone, important enough to be the owner of mjollnir’s counterpart, able to make kratos change significantly etc. Mary sues are products of terrible writing and it doesnt sit right in a story driven game

I'm not opposed to a balanced cinematic approach (sometimes, judged case by case basis) it's just that Sonys games usually go all in on that one specific factor. They're central to directing a movie over gameplay and therefore what gameplay is there is usually just a boring afterthought.
