the expansion takes place in Cidaris so you fucked up from the start
>t. ex-dev

>>740291212
Are they gonna make any changes to gameplay like new skills, expanding the combat system, adding new signs, improving alchemy or anything like that? Is my boy Iorveth and the elves in it? Because if not then fuck off.
>The main antagonist is most likely Vilgefortz
Fake, Vilgefortz is canonically dead by this point.

>t. ex-dev

Does your brother work at Nintendo too?

Why not make standalone budget game instead of "DLC"?
I doubt many will unbox their decade old games to install some stupid shit

>players can once again take on the role of Geralt of Rivia and embark on a brand-new adventure before heading out on the Path as Ciri in the upcoming The Witcher 4

They wouldn't be foolish enough to kill/disable Geralt. I think.

Either way it seems like a prologue DLC for W4. We'll probably see Geralt investigate something which leads to Ciri having to travel some distance at the end.

>The map will be about twice as large as the Blood and Wine one

CDPR already said that Songs of the Past will be of similar size and scope to Blood and Wine.

>We'll find out how the Baron's story arc ends if we managed to save his wife

We already know how it ends if you bothered to play the game.

>The main antagonist is most likely Vilgefortz

Considering that Geralt killed him it's very unlikely unless CDPR pulls some resurrection BS.

Verdict: Fake as fuck.

No, I think he's referring to what happens to the Baron and his wife after their journey to find a cure. I seem to recall that the Baron said he knew a healer from Blue Mountains

CDPR getting desperate

Anons, I bought the trilogy on Steam sales some months ago. Played through W1 and I'm now at W2.

I'm getting worried though by all the talks of CDPR about tweeking the minimal requirement of OS to Windows 11 for their games. I'm not interested in buying this DLC, would I still have an issue playing W3 on my Windows 10?

And on that note, since I also own CP77, will there be an issue on that as well?
>>
Beauclaire was a rather large map. I don't see them making another map of that scope, much less a map twice as big...you're looking at an xpac that would be around the same size as Velen. Velen was fucking BIG.

>new expansion 10+ years after the mass exodus and B&W
It smells like they want to make the bed for future retardation and retcons while making generating hype and making a nice profit on top of it.

>>740291692
Just pirate the latest W3 with all of it's expansions and DLCs before the new stuff comes out. That's the one you want to keep it in your personal archive. The W11 thing must be W10 not being officially supported anymore. Unless they add something that actively utilizes the new OS you should be fine on paper but devs adding minor software tweaks to break compatibility isn't unheard of. At least your pirated "final version" W3 will be unaffected by all this, so you can finish the trilogy in peace regardless of what nu-CDPR fucks up with this new expansion.

Thank you anon for the advice. The thing is though that I had already bought W3 with all the DLC (bar the latest one obviously), so am I semi-fucked or something?

>I'm getting worried though by all the talks of CDPR about tweeking the minimal requirement of OS to Windows 11
They just say this because Windows 10 isn't officially supported anymore so they can't guarantee support for it themselves (legal shenanigans), but the game will work just fine in w10

>geralt will get last of us'd

you forgot that one
>>
>>740292583
Geralt was already last of us'd in the books, killed by some random peasant with a pitchfork

Vilgefortz is dead. But i wouldnt be surprised if writers of netflix witcher are working in the current cd projekt.

>>740292148
your pic doesn't say that most of these devs are now at Fool's Theory, the ones developing the expansion
>>
>>740291380
Geralt also died before, as did Regis

I do think another fucking person back from the dead would be lame as hell though but Songs of the Past kinda imply something about the novel storylines.

>>740291473
It's not 2008 anon, people don't use physical copies for games anymore.

I digged up the blogpost that announces the new system reqs for you: https://support.cdprojektred.com/en/witcher-3/pc/sp-technical/issue/2973/upcoming-changes-to-minimum-requirements-for-the-witcher-3-wild-hunt

>With new content coming to the game, we need to update our system requirements to ensure smooth performance and compatibility going forward for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Songs of the Past.
So the base game is also affected. The worrisome part is pic rel. Vulkan AI is officially out of the picture and the fourth might suggest that they'll actively use something that prevents you from running the game on W10. Whether it's some W11 exclusive feature or "just" taking advantage of hardware that's now required for W11 (like CPUs with TPM 2.0 support) it's unknown.

The revert part makes me think there will be two path forward: the "abandoned" W3 after the Next-Gen Update (4.0) and it's patches; then the "new" one with the SotP DLC and who knows what else in the future.
