Are the Judgment games good?
>>740302580Judgement by far is my favorite Yakuza title. The gameplay of Lost Judgement is peak, but I found the atmosphere of Ijincho more suited for Ichiban and the gang rather than the story they were trying to tell. Which is still a great story and has a lot to say, but the story of the first time could not be more peak. And the means by which you gain points to allocate for stats pushes you to interact with Kamurocho far more than I had in literally any other title (including 0).On a related note, the DLC for Lost Judgement is also peak and worth checking out.
YesJudgment for the storyLJ for the gameplayCurrent price on steam is stupidly worth it
>>740302580They're basically just more yakuza.Anyone cooming over the combat is just larping, it's really not that much different than most Yakuza titles. So if you like Yak, yes. If not, no.Only real difference is no Kiryu protag, which is always great. Kiryu is boring as fuck and I'm glad they retired him.I just wish they gave us a real Akiyama game. Easily the best Yakuza character.
>>740303386I forgot to say, Tak as the protag is also pretty boring. He's just Kiryu-lite.
>>740302580The stories are among the best in the franchise. And I'll go on record saying Judgement has objectively the best story with it's setup. It was the one title that had me locked in from the start, at the edge of my seat to see where it goes. I think Lost Judgement had a lot more to say, but it was a bit more unfocused as a result.
>>740302580Judgment is great but it does have its issues. The tailing missions are really annoying and constant, it's only in Kamurocho, and bounce blocking makes Crane completely unusable. The story is by far the best part of it and it's interesting outside of one bit right near the end of the game. Also has a fantastic final boss fight.Lost Judgment is great but the story is constantly contentious and causes fights all the time. You either love it or hate it due to how Yagami presents his arguments because he does it very poorly while acting like the antagonist's arguments make much sense. Fantastic final boss fight, one of the best final boss songs. Combat is a massive improvement over 6, K2, and JE because bounce blocking was removed on almost everything and only Nouveau Riche enemies have them which makes sense since they're obese so you're hitting their blubber. Substories are a mix of sequel ones from JE, new ones, and some of the worst ones ever seen since Dead Souls. The Kaito Files is unbelievably short for the price they're asking for. Story-wise it's a bit of a mess because Kaito acts like Yagami constantly instead of Kaito and is seeing stuff he as a character would never notice or observe in any way multiple times. The penultimate boss is also kinda just quickly rushed in and out of there while the final boss is great. Side content virtually all just 1:1 from Yagami's side or repurposed from Yagami's side. No substories, just four minibosses (Which you have to buy upgrades to fight). Bruiser is just Brawler with a few NPC moves and Tank is just Beast with a few NPC moves. Kaito feels very underwhelming to use at all.All the DLC drone parts, minigame parts, Extracts, and in LJ's case the Boxing style are cheat items. If you use any of them you just break the minigames and combat in two so you really want to avoid touching them outside of for fun or if you really hate a minigame (No one will blame you for cheating on Death Racing).
One of the few games that could stay full price forever and still be worth every penny.https://youtu.be/c-1tRRnBmpc
>>740302580amazing, but what about sawa-sensei
