It's crazy how indie retards can't even compete with games from the 90s. Technology is better than ever, you have tools to make anything. Something that in 95 would be extremely hard to make, hundreds of hours of rendering and using badly made slow tools to make something. You can just do in seconds. But indie devs can't make a game better than some PS1 game. No indie dev has made a better shooter than DOOM. You would think DOOM was created by this big insane company with so many employees but the team was smaller than the average indie company. They were working with a few megabites of RAM and the whole game had to fit on a 2mb floppy disk. And indie devs can't compete with that. Not only can they not make a better game than Doom, Blood, No one lives forever, Duke Nukem etc but they can't even optimize the game so that it runs on anything but the most powerful hardware.

It's fucking insane. I would love it if devs made games that look like they were made in 1990-2000 but with better hardware, more content, more stuff to do since it's easier and faster and cheaper to make. But that's not happening. You get a game that wouldn't pass for a good game in 1990, you can't even run it at 60fps, it looks worse than any game from 1990, it has less content.

This is pure cope. People buy any slop that is marketed to them. If Ubisoft made something original, people would buy it, it would sell more than any of their current properties.
People don't buy originality because originality comes from companies that are not established or they are established and get too much a hubris releasing an original game and not realizing that no one know who made the game. It doesn't matter if Rockstar releases a space fishing simulator if the game doesn't get marketing and no one knows Rockstar made it. But you market it as a Rockstar game and people buy it.

People go fucking insane just knowing that Bethesda or CD Projekt is working on a new IP.
