Has anyone here played the console exclusive Sims games? I'm talking about Bustin' Out and The Urbz. How are they? It appears they have campaigns which I think is cool.
>>740310506the gameboy bustin out was an entirely different game for some reason, very good tooi also enjoyed the one on a desert island on pspmodern sims look lame and gay tho
>>740310506I watched this british lady review all of themhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ax6H1NFJ0s
>>740310649Gba bustin out was awesome
>>740310506Console Sims 1 and Busting Out were fun
>>740310506>>740311475Console Sims 2 was awesome too. You could split screen coop.
All Sims games are better with a story or goals. The battle pass was a no-brainer. "You can do anything!" -> you have to come up with all motivation yourself
>>740310506I had urbz for Xbox back in the day, and while it's probably better than the gba port, I would recommend emulating if possible. I wouldn't pay more than 5 dollars for it today. You have an apartment for some reason, you can furnish it and buy pets i think who piss and shit everywhere, but for 99% of the game you aren't even in your own apartment. Sex with Fergie was the only good part about it.
>sims 1 console>best way to fill social/fun in the endgame is to have sex>every time you do this you get a baby>kids are completely worthless>dump that fucker on the front lawnNot my problem.
Sims 1, Sims Bustin' Out, and Sims 2 were all excellent games on console. The goals and unlockables added what was missing from the original Sims gameplay. (not that I didn't also love it on PC). I loved getting thrown into the lot that had the kitchen burned down, half the electronics busted, light bulbs out, and trash everywhere to be picked up. Then you balance your work, friendships, and chores around the goals. Sprucing up each lot and getting reimbursed for it was also cool. On PC you kind of just stick to one lot per family, add things when you get more money, or bulldoze and move maybe once.Urbz was alright, but I have memories of feeling that the building aspect was either half-baked or completely unsatisfying/unnecessary. I remember it having mini-games and being fun co-op, though.
>>740310506Bustin Out was great
>>740311556The ability to control your Sim with the control sticks was amazing. Unreal that they completely dropped that after this game. Sims 2 console also introduced harvesting your own ingredients from gardens and fish tanks. The cooking system was awesome too.
>>740311778Once you added enough furniture to the apartment, you had a pet forced onto you, which then pissed endlessly on your floors. Not that it mattered because like you said, there was pretty much zero reason to ever go to your apartment anyways. Every lot had some little room with a bed or somewhere to get food from.
>>740312454wasn't the expensive monkey cleaning robot a stapple of most games?
>>740312687Yeah, but not in Urbz console. The most you had in that game was a janny for the public lots.
Hello?
I played the one with The Black Eyed Peas, it was whatever I don't remember. I think you're trying to become a celebrity or something. that's my review so check it out!
for me, it was the urbz
>>740315105This game shaped my taste in women.
>>740310506The SIMS BUSTIN'NUT
I wish the mainline games had an objective mode
>>740310506I enjoyed the console game more than the PC games. As other Anon's have said the objectives and story made it more satisfying. It was also fun to have a girlfriend from every area you could get one.
>>740310506Yeah a lot of them had campaigns. Its how I got into the sims, by playing the consoles versions. PC version obviously had more content but the console sim were good too. My first sims was the first PS2 game before busting out and the Urbz. Posting the Japanese box art just for shits and giggles.
>>740310506Why was Bustin Out so good? I somehow remember it fondly and it feels like a lot of other people do too, yet I can't really point to anything in particular that sets it apart. It had sovl or something.
>>740310506I was so hyped to play this one because it had cars. Then I realized that they were just for glorified loading screens. Still, a good game.
>>740310506Fuck it I'm going to have to play it now>>740320756It was just well designed, comfy to play and manage.
I liked them, Sims is more enjoyable with proper goals

urbz gba / ds is wildly different than the xbox version I played the ds version until the end as a kid and had an absolute blast bunch of mini games, cool furniture, good music, sexy sim bitches, it has it all
>>740310506>console exclusive>Bustin' Out and The UrbzI am sort of sensing a theme here
>>740320756It was clean, pilisjed, and worked well with the restraints of being on console. Urbz wasn't as good because it got more and like anon here said >>740311976 it was less focused on what made Sims good, the home building.
>>740321154https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WovXqO3Go4E
It's funny, I was always under the impression that people preferred The Urbz. Everyone ITT seems to prefer Bustin Out though.
>>740315105Handheld version has Kris Thistle and I wanna fuck her in a broom closet.
>>740310506Fuck it I'm loading this up on my homebrewed Wii tonight.
Was a big fan of PC Sims as a little kid. I played Bustin Out on the ps2 as a child, and it sucked dick and balls. Even as a child playing this game when it was new I found it unplayable.
>>740321601I never played Urbz because it seemed too stylized and towards a narrow audience.
