Mainly because it feels like current games, from AAA, AA and indies, are just trying to resell and repackage what I already experienced at a kid. Again and again and again. Often not even using the genres and styles from back then to build something of their own.

I still play new stuff occasionally, i force myself to just to see what's happening in the industry. And "AAA" gaming hasn't interested me since about 2007. Uncharted was a huge turning point in my eyes, it's when video games stopped being games and they turned into a new medium altogether - one that is far less interactive and is closer to Interactive Television than anything else.
