Gamers only care about what's new, tons of MMOs and other games are straight up better than their modern counterparts and are out there but no one will play them *just* because they didn't come out in the past 3 years, not even a matter of graphics or mechanics, or anything. It's true that it's somewhat well known but even if it weren't I could still get it as long as someone, anyone cared to put it in some digital archive.You can't do the same with most games. Not openly at least. In time, gaming culture will change from "new games have better technology" to "gaming technology has been the same for decades. And then you'll go searching for old games sure in the fact that only the talent of the creators differs, not the technology. We're not there yet maybe, but it's not far. CPUs are more or less the same since the quad core intels from almost 20 years ago. GPUs advance somewhat but not trully since very new one consume significantly more power than the previous, which means at this rate it has 10-20 years at most.
