One day every online service is going to have JIT effortless machine translation of foreign languages in your select language. You won't even be able to tell that the other users aren't your language, apart from weird grammar that it can't properly handle due to language-specific slang.
Do you think that will be a benefit?

koreans get pissy when I tell them their language looks like
>l--lo-ol-[lo[]l-lo-o]-l][o-]lo-]l][[ol-lo-]ol-]-[o-[0[o-0---0o
I would suggest doing that at them in games
>>

The response is already mad. Nintendo is Japanese. Korean dude was malding so much he couldn't say a product that wasn't associated with Americans.
>i don't speak tim hortons
>>

That's when you start speaking an online pidgin to know when someone is machine translated.

>due to language specific slang
I was saying that it would become much less common because not every message is going to include slang.
And with the miscegenation of culture this brings, generations born into casual translation will adopt that bad grammar thinking it is normal, eventually bringing that change into their own mother language. It's how language always worked.
