I genuinely think that one of the only things TES has going for it is the cultural momentum behind it and they squandered a large part of it by putting the IP on ice for so many years. I heard it was to make the MMO the main elder scrolls game for a while but they could have done year long sub deals or something like WoW did with diablo 3. MMO devs and TeS mainlinbe game devs could have both worked together to make people want to play one after the other or at the same time somehow.
