Isn't the exsistence of good warhammer video games kinda funny, and contradictory to the tabletop portion games workshop invested into for years?>warhammer tabletop Funded by whales, gameplay is mid, players only usually play it every few weekends>tide games, and total war games10/10 gameplay, arguably infinite replayability, goes on sale for a few bucks, players play dailyThink about it, in a way the video games have stolen a potential tabletop buyer, as someone who plays the aforementioned games daily I wouldn't even play tabletop if it was free.
I never would have even thought about playing table top because it requires 3 things that I don't have1. Friends2. Lots of money 3. Space to hoard minifigsBut because of total war I have started reading the gotrek and Felix books, learning and researching table top figs and kind of just a little want to buy a set and paint them. Not to play, because still don't have friends, but maybe just to look at on my desk or something. So I think it's been pretty successful in tempting me into their core product
>>740332496WHAT DOES THE REDDIT FROG HAVE TO DO WITH THAT?
>>740333826Its mood.
>>740333803I mean I can kind of relate, ever since I started darktide I've been lorefagging on the wiki. 40k universe just has so much interesting tidbits. Still wouldn't shill out money for a plastic toy though
The point is painting figurines, everyone hates playing and only does it to show off their figurines
>>740333803I played Warhammer Fantasy Battles for almost 20 years. I still go to a tournament once a year to get a feel of rules and see how the game has changed (It's actually called the 9th Age, a fan made WHFB off-shoot somewhat popular in Europe). I don't think I EVER played with friends. I just liked the game and went to tournaments. I played with lot of peoples, talked about minis and rules and went abroad to play in foreign tournies and drank beer and made lot of funny stories. It was fun. That's how it works. You are gay small infant focusing on epic magical internet meme "friends". Nothing ever worked like that. Men always gathered around interests, then they talked about the interest and did stuff related to it. After 20 years and lot of stuff you tend to call those other guys your "friends" to distinguish them from some new guys around the interest.
>>740332496hmm... so you're saying the video game developers... ahem... should've left the money on the table?
I'm gunna keep it double underscore one hundred with you. nu/v/'s taste in video games is so incredibly bad I'd rather OP just stick to making porn threads.
