The remake games have been actively avoiding anything involving the original game's weapons and the "weapons" they have shown are these things that are itty bitty in comparison. The only way they could properly do Emerald/Ruby/Diamond/Ultimate weapon battles to proper scale is if they had the guy in charge of FFXVI's Eikon battles directing it and even then how in the FUCK they would get that to work with the Remake/Rebirth battle system is beyond me.
