Sakaguchi and Uematsu carried the FF series. It's been complete shit since they left. It just took 20 years for people to finally come to terms with it because they were blindly loyal to, and in love with, what the series used to be, like fools.The most hilarious thing to me is how they got rid of the turn based combat to appeal to a "modern" audience (as if a timeless gameplay style could ever be "outdated") and zoomers don't even like FF! I think the ff7 remake games really suffered from being ps5 exclusive and on top of that people wanting to wait for the full trilogy to be complete before playing it. Remake could have been better but wasn't a bad game, rebirth was actually really good I just think people complain about it because you end up doing the story then going around doing random shit for 10 hours before you go back to the story and if you are a wagie you might feel its pacing is off but if you can sink all your time into it for a week its probably one of the best games released recently.
