I recently got it and I really enjoy the open world addition. My only issue is how they decided to include every fucking character except for some of the previous racers or characters that would make more sense as racers. I would really like Ninji to be playable over something like fucking Fish Bone. Maybe when we get DLC they'll add everyone missing. Assuming how massive 8's DLC was, I could only imagine that it would take some time with it being also having to design all the tracks into a new open world map

I play it from time to time but I don't like how little my driving has to do with wether I win or lose. Items hyperinflation gets tiring just a few races

They dictate with an iron fist what happens at the API level: that's why inputs are so flexible and smooth everywhere in the Switch/Switch 2.When you go on PC, it's the Wild West because it's an opem platform. There's a gorillion ways to do input, graphics, etc. A game developer's doing their best effort to support their game but bullshit will happen simply because they don't control the software end to end.This is Nintendo's advantage and in fact Gaben is obviously envious of what Nintendo has. Now that Nintendo also has a "good enough" storefront, they're in a way better position than Gaben is to gather collective interest in their platform. Gaben's strengths are flexibility, frequent sales and the value add you get from games when buying them from Steam, such as forums/workshop/etc, but they know they're not doing well in terms of seamlessness.
