Remember the return to the colony ending shows us the colony is gigantic, it wraps around the Earth several times. Eve will have taken over mother brain or whatever the AI was called and have become basically the mother of the new humanity. Story will focus on a government agency keeping latent Naytiba threats that still exist due not being able to return to the new humanity for whatever reason out of the city. However, some of them actually did find a divergent route to looking human again and infiltrated the city. It's basically them mad at being hunted and not allowed to integrate and so became terrorists. The drug shown in the trailer is basically the lead they have on the gang, and it works by super-charging the naytiba part of a humans genes, forcing them back into monsters.
