>>740391608i like both games but to bat for sm64 for a little bit, the controls are fantastic with a few unpleasant quirks, especially for being one of the first of its kind or arguably even the first.the main flaws are fairly obvious:-mario sometimes decides to run off of a cliff for no reason if you don't come to a full stop before changing direction-worst swimming in any mario game, followed by smb3-camera (though in its defense, leaving lakitu mode on is sufficient for most of the game and you'll rarely run into issues if you do)and yet if you compare it to something like banjo kazooie it feels way better to control simply because mario's moveset is so much more dynamic. (still love banjo kazooie though)this also goes for most of the other 3d mario games. his moveset was made to feel floatier and less physical in later games like galaxy and odyssey. (also both great games)
