I hate going up against spectre in dota 2 because of how OP they are.

The spectral dagger allows them to clip through all cliffs and trees, to reach inaccessible areas and easily escape.
The dissipate reflects a large amount of damage back to enemies.
And the ultimate gives spectre a global presence which punishes players who are alone or are farming.

Once it's late game and spectre has all their items, it just feels hopeless and humiliating.

I haven't played in a long time but I don't remember Spectre being a problem. I hated Sniper, Drow, and Phantom Assassin though.

Spectre was always a super late game carry. The longer it goes on the higher her chance of steamrolling your team. You either need to shut her down early and prevent her from ever becoming a problem, which gets harder the longer the game goes thanks to the comeback mechanics, or finish quickly by picking a team that hits their peak in the late mid/early late game.

I remember Spectre having the highest overall win rate 10 years ago when I played. I checked again on Dota buff and it's still very much the case. Funny.

Sniper and PA are really strong but Drow seems mediocre and doesn't fare well against other hard carries
