Well /v/?
>>
recycled threads go in the recycle bin

its still D
>>
Obviously B since the cube could push you out the way if you were next to the portal.
>>
>>740400815
still amazes me people unironically think its A. its not even debateable.
>>
Momentum is conserved and the Moon scene is not canon, therefore A.

B

In the game engine it'd be A. In theory with real life portals it'd be B.
>>
>>740400815
B. FAggots can shut the fuck up.
>>
>>740400815
Is the portal the kind of portal, which preserves momentum or does it have to slowly disintegrate incoming objects and recreate them at the other portal from scratch? If it's the latter, there is no reason necessarily to add momentum to the object. It might be A. Or B if the designers of the portal want it to work that way. It depends on the designer. But if the portals are supposed to work like direct physical connections between places, then it's definitely B, because the momentum of the object would be preserved. It would be a greater break of natural laws, if a box flew at you at incredibly speed and then abruptly stopped like a cartoon with no counter-force to stop it. That would be complete nonsense.

It don't matter.

Portals can't move relative to each other.

cube doesn't move so A

Momentum is not conserved even in a regular portal room, since momentum is a vector.
>>
>>740403002
>preserves momentum
Portals have never "preserved" momentum. Momentum is a vector.
>>
>>740403213
doors preserve momentum
fast thing goes in, fast thing goes out
slow thing goes in, slow thing comes out
portal acts like door between 2 places
hope this helps!
>>
>>740403145
and portals translate that vector to a new xyz coordinate and conserve it
>>
>>740403395
>>740403410
Sounds like you want to say that portals should conserve kinetic energy, which is a rather unphysical principle. But the problems with "A" are much worse than that.

Bfags are so fucking embarrassing man
>oh gee isn’t that interpretation of the magical portal unrealistic?

Realism isn't the main problem. A simply isn't a real interpretation. It doesn't clearly define what happens. There is no way to determine the trajectory of the "plop".

If the portals work on wormhole principles it's A.
>>
>>740400815
Both of these are wrong.

Kill yourself, fucking reposting bot!
>>
>>740400815
I'm not convinced it would even plop. It's still sitting on the platform, so it's affected by gravity straight down, and gravity at a 45° angle at the same time. I say it just stays in place unless nudged by something.

who gives a shit

>realism isn’t the main problem

>first atoms are pushed into portal
>more atoms push first atoms out of the way, moving
>next set of atoms push another set
>etc until the final set of atoms, which are pulled along by the rest of the cube atoms moving
