It literally ends on a bunch of KHUX content which Re:Mind further adds to. There was no closure at all, Sora is now in some random Shibuya map after having violated the rules of reality while Luxu (Forma Xigbar) is now chatting up some furries while Ventus has some stuffed doll and everyone is searching for Sora.

In what world is this "closure"? MoM even further adds more story extensions with them now finding Quadratum and explaining what it is.

This is the fundamental issue. KH3 ended on a cliff-hanger, the mobile game that was supposed to tie people over got cancelled instead of reworking it into something. And now we're looking at a decade wait just for the cliff-hanger to be solved.

Most of the story beats from KH1 and CoM get resolved with this ending and the ones that don't (the ones focused on setting up BBS) can be easily ignore as they aren't THAT in-depth.
