"Chest" is literally translated as "Treasure Chest" (宝箱) in Souls games, so "amazing chest ahead" makes no sense to Japanese players.I think about this a lot, tragic.
Nips appreciate a good pun more than any other group of people on the planetI'm sure they'll understand if you explain it to them
>>740413825The fact that a Japanese game can localize its English to include fun wordplay cleverly weaved into game mechanics is another part of the reason why Fromsoft is the king. People are out here losing their minds over the question of literal vs.authorial intent like they're doing quantum physics, meanwhile Miyazaki is telling Japanese stories to a Western audience better than anyone in the industry.

>>740413825Japbros... I'm sorry.. but this hilariously humorous pun is beyond your capability to understand... Arigato, japanese-sama
Ocarina of Time has tons of fun Japanese wordplay, The Great Deku Tree is referred to as kisama (樹さま)(Tree-Sama) which also happens to be derogatory and honorary at the same time, it made me laugh and it's completely missed in English.
>>740415167>Big bro is #1>兄さん一番Is another Japanese pun completely missed in the English translation. If you’re not playing in superior Japanese you might as well have not beaten the game with everything you missed.
no horse ahead
