On a second playthrough go for the hammer when you're more familiar with proper spacing between yourself and enemies, and boss attack patterns.My first playthrough took 28 hours on the dot. Second time around was right at five hours. It has a pretty steep learning curve but then the difficulty flattens out after the first generator or two of six being restored. Some fun gimmicks for each major area, too.

Weirdifier achievement is totally doable. You need to select any modifier that makes it blue, red will disable the achievement, and you have to activate them BEFORE starting your new file. I did the first three towers in order then hopped over to the Mirror World. I know that one is the intended finale one, but I don't see how The Congealed would be any less of a clusterfuck even if I did level and collect more.
