Whatever happened to these guys? It feels like they were pumping out one title after the next relatively quickly, and some of their titles had some pretty strong staying power like Artificial Academy and Koikatsu. And it seems like the amount of people that played their "games" had a sudden drop-off. Was it because of the ease of AI art?

>>740462985They didn't put any effort into their games beyond the character creator so they had pretty poor player retention without mods, and their games became less moddable over time with CM3D2 probably being the peak in terms of being mod-friendly. Koikatsu, Artificial Girl, and Honey Select were much harder to create content for and as a result didn't last very long in terms of relevance.If someone took the Illusion character creator and built an actual modular h-game engine it would be as successful as RPGMaker I think.

Not just animation rooms with a meet-n-fuck area? Al Shoujo wasn't a masterpiece or anything but it was, at least, a game. Not Illusion but Teatime, but 4chan used to have a LoveDeath 555 server, it was a fun lobby (rifles and rocket launchers for sale in the mall, you can shoot peoples' cocks off, have shootouts in between everyone pretending to be the cute girl, or races on the racetrack map)When I see a new game now, I'm expecting two things: 1. Recycled studio animations of 'you control sex poses' - this is BORING and yes, even AI slop is catching up now in making scenes from it these days 2. No actual GAME worth speaking of, just a bare minimum sandbox with buggy gameplay that takes a year to be fixed and costs $50 per 'expansion pack' (pack contents: one new voice, one new position)

The H animations also being controlled with your mouse was nice since it felt more dynamic compared to just letting the animations play out with no input like in every other porn game. Don't know why more devs don't do that.
