Nasu is not a good writer, nor is Takeuchi a good artist, but they successfully cornered the market at the time with both the gacha and VN. People fell in love with the concept and idea of Fate as opposed to the story itself, and this is definitely seen in a ton of fan works even prior to the gacha.Fate is a franchise that gets away with a fuckload of garbage because it's a legacy franchise, but it has never been good.
