I remember from the trailers I thought the pack of wolves in the snow area was part of the open world - that you could randomly be attacked by a horde of animals while out in the wild. Very disappointed.

I disliked the idea of samus on a bike but ended up loving it, tho it is underused it is quite fun.

Having an open hub area could work, but it needed to feel like a metroid area. Should have had structured level design with platforming challenges, tough enemies to fight or go around, tons of hidden collectables and entrances/shortcuts to other areas that require certain items/beams or tech to sequence break.The bike could have been cool if it was ever needed to find items. Or make a boost ball and have the open world be a 3D sonic type platforming area you go to fuck around in between the more focused areas.If they wanted to keep it an empty palate cleanser area you breeze through, they needed to make the main areas more complex and difficult so you would actually appreciate a breather.
