This fight is fine, it’s definitely more about engaging with equipables rather than your base moveset, where the boss is kinda just a simple execution check except for attacks involving light clones which you’ll want good positioning for though you can also just block those if you’re using a shield. The arena has some weird geometry and very rarely he can do an animation cancel out of his pontiff combo but it’s a positional thing and barely ever happens.

The funniest thing about elden ring for me will always be the absolutely massive difference between my playthrough and everyone elses. I did fuck all damage and didnt even have all of my weapons upgraded during base game and I just did shit damage during the dlc. And then after beating said dlc, I look up how everyone else is doing and people are just shitting out 1000s of damage without breaking a sweat.
