Sony is rumored to have their cheaper handheld, and Microsoft a more open OS, but other than that they have no selling points to distinguish each other. This wasn't a problem this gen but the console consumer base is going to shrink and this attrition is more important again. Goypass isn't meeting expectations and Sonys live service push has been a disaster. Either of these could have cushioned a blow but now their backs are against the wall and they're desperate to hang onto a hardware base that will be more important than ever. In general though AAA gaming is dying and there's nothing to stop it.
