Now that the dust has settled, can we all agree it was misunderstand kino?

I love this game too much.
>>
It's just not scary like 7 is and just carrying the very simplistic and janky first-person combat system into 8 was a bad idea. Plus the story just isn't engaging in the way 7 is. It hits some points, but whiffs on others. It is just a weird game with a weird story. Not bad, just not focused enough, it needed direction. And we see this with RE9 too. Same exact problem.
>>
It's ok. The doll part is only interesting once, and the fish part never. Castle is the best part, and factory is decent but overstays its welcome.
Overall the whole game should have been the castle, like... a RE game, with half the factory at the end.
The whole "beat the 4 bosses" is super videogamey and cringe too. But the ending and the linking of 7 and 8 redeems it.

This is the only rationalize take anyone can have with 8.

Also the ratio of characters to waifus is ridiculously high.

only played it once, didnt really like it and havent played a new resident evil since

>it was misunderstand kino?
yes saar, very the good masterpeace
>>
It - like all the non remake RE games of recent times - suffers from being very front loaded where they clearly have some cool ideas but then have to stretch out 4 hours of game to 10-12 and the pacing takes a nosedive after that first 4 or so. 7 suffered the same and so does requiem.
>>
>>740627771
It was a solid 8/10 fun time. Which is better than RE9's 7/10 decent time.
>>
>>740627771
Reminder 7 and 8 are better than 9
>>
>>740627771
Worst gameplay out of every RE engine game, and that's really saying something
>>
>>740627771
It ain't perfect, but it's an interesting and weird thing with strong RE flavor rather than a by-the-numbers RE. There's something great to see at every stage of it.

I don't understand RE fans who want
every game to just be REmake again. The schizoid changes that the series goes through is a definite strength, and I will *always* return to the unfairly maligned RE6 - a real epic, over-the-top outlier - and discover something new each time.

RE6 is unironically the single worst game I've ever played in my life. And that's including Operation Raccoon City
>>
>>740630286
Sorry you have narrow shit taste, like the rest of the herd.
>>
>>740630506
It's just a glorified cutscene with QTEs. There's no game. What is there to like?? I've never been more baffled by the existence of contrarians than RE6 defenders. It's like defending Concord or something
>>
>>740627771
it's better than requiem
which is not saying much but still
>>

>There's no game
It has a lot of cutscene AND a lot of game. There's no real problem with it. Melee combat changes massively based on context and positioning, and the story is an RE Cheese Epic. It's extremely fun to play alone or with somebody else.

If anyone else is in this thread, just try it yourself and see.

It was ok but I hate that it was made for vr. Bosses in your face while you stand there and tank hits, villains are like Disney sidekicks, lots of forced scenes that would be neat in vr but pointless without. Equivalent to those gimmicks in movies that were originally for 3D glasses

Sir do not misunderstand the kino
