Phil made two big mistakes. Blowing $100 billion on studios that can't seem to release games, and not giving the Series X some big advantage over the PS5. I think making online free would have moved some consoles, and if Game Pass is such a good deal, they would have been able to sell subscriptions anyway. Alternatively, he could have made the Series X marginally more powerful than the PS5 so it would come out on top in Shill Foundry comparisons. I think he did do a good job with smart delivery though, that was much better than how Sony handled cross gen upgrades.
