I liked the game (pirated on Switch). I played the entire game with the sword and had to switch to the whip for the final boss, maybe I was playing in hard mode all this time.Also this was one of the most blatant "bad ending" you could get, I wonder how much bullshit you have to do to get the good one but I don't care enough to play it again.Overall pretty fun game, still gets mogged by GB(C) Zelda games but that was to be expected.

To get the "good" ending you have to avoid committing a single one of them. If even one happens you're locked in to the standard ending. These range from things like skipping the orphanage ribboncutting ceremony cutscene (you're called selfish if you go through with it), to attacking Klumpy Dee at any point, to breaking a single candle at any point in the game (are you trying to leave the island in the dark?).But if you manage to do it, then Lionel will offer you to join him. Accept, and you skip the final dungeon and final boss and go straight to the ending. Thorne and his rebellion are taken care of offscreen, and Mina and Lionel celebrate the prosperity of the Tenebrous Isles on the distant island where you'd normally meet Thorne, and Lionel formally turns over ownership of it to Mina.
