as long as the lore makes sense, everything is justifiable
I've played the likes of DX2 and the gacha shit feels really disconnected to the worldbuilding

And then you take away the point of it all. If you arbitrarily timegate via premium currency/pay2speed up gathering monsters then all you're doing is making the game genre fundamentally worse. Gacha is a cancer.
