Considering how long it took for Cuphead and it's DLC to release, the studio should've considered using AI to quicken the process a little.
They could still have the artists check every frame and fix problems to make sure it looked good, AI would be for the repetitive parts, is it really a good thing that this game probably won't release until 2030 just for internet brownie points?

it's really not an insane opinion to think that AI could help in certain areas to quicken development, that's basically what it's for, and I'm sure there are ways to use it smartly to save time without compromising the quality.

Considering how long it took for OP and it's micropenis to orgasm, OP should've considered using vaseline to quicken the process a little.
They could still have the mouth suck every nipple and suck cock to make sure it felt good, vaseline would be for the tight anus, is it really a good thing that this faggot probably won't cum until 2030 just for daddy's good boy points?

You're right. AI should be used for menial tasks like coloring or inbetweens or whatever by-the-books shit you give interns.

Grow up. The world isn't black and white. Op makes good points but you get rage blinded like a Pavlovian dog without trying to understand the context.

Next you're gonna get angry at me for posting a show you don't like

the context is a completely inappropriate suggestion of AI use to "alleviate the menial work" for a game that chases traditional animation and doing everything the hard way

confronted with not being wanted in the room, the AI bro turns to a tried and true tactic: positioning himself as the most intelligent male in the room

I simply don't want the game that is a loving homage to early animation to use AI assisted tools when drawing their art, I don't care if it means I get less games or it takes longer, there is something about a work of art created through human toil that isn't replicated through the efficient use of AI tools.
>>

>inappropriate suggestion of AI
How is it "inappropriate"? Just because it can't have a sticker that says "100% hand drawn" even if the results are exactly the same? You don't care about results, you just like to wave around "authenticity" like a merit badge.

ai can’t really do hand animation; it looks too smooth. it would likely cost more time to go behind it and correct everything that it would to just animate by hand

Human culture isn't just about creating things to entertain you in the moment, it is about human creation and the collective building of culture, each work building off of what came before it to create something new, I already don't like the mediating, propagandistic hand of the state interfering with this construction, adding in the thoughts of robotic AIs made by corporations to interfere with this endeavor is one of the worst things that could happen and I don't want to give money to anyone doing this.
>>
>>740642762
Yeah the part AI bros like to not tell you is that you're going to be doing so much fucking quality-assurance work that you would genuinely be better off not using it at all, AI is horrible at consistency and following set guidelines and it shouldn't be allowed near a creative project with a ten foot pole, even without getting into the grounds that you, as an animator, were effectively too lazy to do that work and didn't care what the end result looked like

>AI should be used for menial tasks like coloring or inbetweens or whatever by-the-books shit you give interns

I agree on coloring, but in-betweening requires more creativity than most people believe. As long as you have direct control over the output, auto-coloring functions in software like Harmony and OpenToonz would be nice.
>>
The entire point of Cuphead is that it's lovingly and painstakingly crafted by real people and not learning algorithms. Using AI would completely ruin their image. I don't care how long the sequel takes I'm buying it and I'm buying thay whatever the fuck 80's game too.

AI niggers are very good at missing the point.

Nigga the original was drawn on actual animation cels. Did you really think that post of yours through?

I mean, they don't seem to understand the point of putting real effort into creating art.
>>
>>740643502
they understand just fine, they're playing stupid to shoehorn AI as a solution
this is AI's entire economic model and why the technology is completely unprofitable
>>
>>740642762
Using AI generation is basically a personal hell if you're a creative with a specific vision in mind because you'll be stuck genning 1000 variants of each prompt, trying to wrangle what you actually have in mind out of it, and then correcting it manually anyway. It's perfect for when you want to manifest 10000 slightly different porn images to jerk off to, but not for creating a specific piece of art.
>>740641942
>uhh but ackshully OP just meant using tools like content-aware fill and healing brush that existed before the genAI shill wave
no he didn't
>>
>>740643645
i don't even find AI useful for porn, 2D or not it always looks plasticine or off in some way. knowing it is literally "porning by committee", or more accurately it's the porn equivalent of a similarity search with specified words and tags, does not help this masturbatory uncanny valley
>>
>>740643472
yes it was frame by frame not cels. according to a 5 minute google search. that means entirely new sheet for every frame not cel overlay
>>
>>740643645
>uhh but ackshully OP just meant using tools like content-aware fill and healing brush that existed before the genAI shill wave
I don't get what you're even implying here. That content-aware fill is good but modern AI tools are bad? What? OP is saying to generate frames and correct them. I don't think that's bad. At first I thought he just meant inbetweens (because AI still needs references and keyframes would be easiest). But honestly you could possibly generate keyframes too.

It's all about what is easiest while looking good. And if you earnestly believe "AI can't look good," then you're in denial. Maybe if you only browse slop that people don't bother fixing at all.
>>
>>740643536
>they understand just fine, they're playing stupid to shoehorn AI as a solution
long game development times is not some problem people had to invent to shoehorn AI into the picture.
The long dev time for Cuphead was pretty notorious by the time Delicious Last Course rolled around, and it is easy to see how generative AI could be used to help speed development up.
>>
>>740643261
the art and the process would still exist, AI wouldnt just fart out the whole game but be used to supplement menial and repetitive shit

no anon generative AI would not have helped their 100% hand-drawn project

now stop suggesting it would before i shove you in a fucking locker. nerd
