RE7 was good and so was RE2 but RE2 is what caused this slopification of RE as a brand where they plaster Leon everywhere because some tourist who never played the game think he's cute and made quirky edits out of him.

You can see RE9 getting sabotaged by this in real time where the game had its own theme and direction completely butchered by Leon and their obsession with him. Racoon City flashbacks, RPD, what the fuck?

RE8 was okay but it played it too safe, it didn't have the same oomph as RE7.
