In its current state, it promotes feast-or-famine gameplay where increasing the difficulty really only makes random mistakes more punishing rather than actually requiring deeper thought during combat. And balance is completely fucked: you can't have a dungeon system based off of resource management when it's so easy to get things that invalidate it. There's a reason why the first dungeons are usually the hardest, since you haven't gotten the time to completely ruin the difficulty yet.

They didn't do it for P3 Reload, despite the fact that they had the groundwork for male romances from P3FES (Which despite having a male and female protag choice, mostly limited you to straight romance choices). I could see the crossdressing scene being rewritten to be less awkward/weird.

It does always get to a point where SP management is non-existent so it doesn't matter, but it has the bones of a system where there can be an interesting risk between deciding to push on knowing you're not well-equipped or accepting the permanent waste of a day.If I were being optimistic I would say Prime Time could be used as an option to let you strategically save SP on a battle, but it's probably just going to be added on top of all the other easy ways to save SP. Maybe they'll finally cut back on it a bit in P6. I don't think Persona needs to have a grueling difficulty level either, there's just potential for a more interesting difficulty than what it is now, and SP management being more emphasized could band-aid some other issues like it being too easy to rely on just hitting weaknesses and getting knockdowns because if SP were actually precious, then the ease of getting those knockdowns would be counterbalanced by the fact that you spent some of your limited resources to achieve it.

>>740667371I think it's fine for persona to just be watered down SMT fights, the whole social aspect of the game is just as much part of what you're supposed to play around, managing stat grinds social link and sufficient income to do all these things while progressing in whatever dungeon is how the game should operate.
