I just found out my monitor is actually 75 hz and not 60 like it says on the box

Is 75 hz worth it for gaming over 60?

Yes, the 15hz might seem small but it's 1/4 of your current refresh rate (60hz). 60 -> 75 is 25% smoother motion.
