It was weak hardware with a shitty UI and non-capacitive touch screen with gimmick games all over it. You had games that didn't use the touchscreen and only used the D-pad, but because you had to use the D-pad instead of an analog stick it was shit for most games that were 2D games made in SNES style. Poking around on the touchscreen was a gimmick and it proved to be such when the 3DS failed to meet expectations too. You only liked it because it was your only option and it had Mario Kart which basically rendered the touchscreen completely optional and it Mario Kart online. I'm tired of people acting like the DS was good was it wasn't. They should have made another Gameboy just like they should have made a Game Cube 2.
