One of my favorite memories is being 8 in 98 and and playing Link's Awakening. I went to the fair during the play through and met another kid my age who also loved the game. (I think he came up to me because I was playing a gameboy on a bench). We found a field nearby and played imagination Zelda for hours, exploring and fighting Tektites and Moblins and shit. Promised next year we'd have actual swords and shields.Went home and had my dad help me make the sword and shield out of wood. Unfortunately I didn't ever run into him again, maybe he moved idk, but it was still fun having hyrule shield on while walking around the fair, especially as I had just started playing Ocarina of Time. Shame they raped Link's Awakening remake, but OP I understand your sentimental feelings. I am excited too.
