So this is a theory I'm coming up with based on what we have seen of the Xenoblade Genesis. Essentially my theory is each one of the "Suns" is actually a different world's possibly made at the end of xenoblade 3. This in itself is only based on a couple of factors so far but low-key im writing this down now so if I am right I have proof. So for me the evidence pointing at it is actually the lack of any traditional connections to Xenoblade, the lack of Nopons, the Lack of Sci-fi elements and the lack of any previously established races. This to me feels like an intentional choice to make this world more foreign and show a clear separation from the series as we know it. As for the 7 earths idea that comes from first the significance given to 7 across the series such as with the party members in 1 or lucky 7 in 3 and most telling the flower with 7 buds in this new trailer, now we are given 6 suns in this trailer and that part is given a ton of focus. 6 hasn't had any significance but if we include the earth we see we do get 7 and if this earth is counted then I feel like it's not much of a stretch to argue that maybe all the other "suns" are actually planets just like the one we follow. Now the idea I have that connects back to things lacking in this world is maybe there's space travel in this game and you actually are able to visit all 7 of these planets. And within that we might see some more traditional xenoblade elements, homs high entia maybe even a planet of nopon. This is just my theory but If you have any feedback I'd appropriciate it.

I'm going to complain about is the academy setting. One of the Xenoblade trilogy's (barring X, which is guilty of what I'm going to describe) biggest strengths are the characters' agency in the story. Popular modern JRPGs have this really bad fucking habit of centering everything around an academy, or centering everything around the military. In these kinds of settings the characters have little to no agency of their own for the first 50-80% of the game, and are often sent to random corners of the world on "missions" given to them by some higher up in the chain of command. The actual adventure is stripped down to a job and character agency stops at "I enrolled at ACADEMY to do X" or "I enrolled in the MILITARY to do X".Xenoblade 1 has Shulk rise to the occasion and set out to avenge Fiora, find out why the Mechon did what they did, and put a stop to it.Xenoblade 2 has Rex start off as a self-employed salvager who takes a job he doesn't understand, and gets pulled into something way over his head and rises to the occasion putting himself in danger to protect Pyra, deliver her to Elysium, and potentially try and find a way to end crisis of dwindling resources/land by proving Elysium is real.Xenoblade 3's interesting in that it actually starts out with the characters being soldiers with no agency of their own, doing the exact same shit that modern JRPGs often have the protagonists do: Following orders. Even down to having a fake tutorial about the flame clocks. But within the opening 2 hours that's flipped on its head and Noah, Mio and the rest run into Vandham, learn the truth about the Consuls, and become Public Enemy Number 1.I'm really worried that Xenoblade 4 will do the thing that modern JRPGs often do in that the first half, or even first 3 quarters of the story, are just the protagonists following orders before some "epic twist" where the academy was evil all along, or the chain of command falls apart.
