I don't know what any of those things do. I let the game decide for me when it launches

Without RT you could just run SSAA and get the same performance

i've noticed a lot of people have become reflexively anti-raytracing. streamers with top of the line rigs will turn it off because...they just don't like it or something, even on titles like pragmata where it's pretty essential to the graphical presentation. it seems to have acquired some "muh ai" stigma among people who have no idea what they're talking about

Many games don't even render properly without TAA on, because they assume it or some upscalling will be turned on.

I force it off whenever I can. Truly the bane of modern graphics. I'd rather look at massive amount of specular aliasing and dithering shit than see one blurry texture.

It's a meme that makes you lose frames. This is noticeable when you're playing casually for yourself, but streaming the game makes this even more obvious when you're tying to save resources.

DLAA just replaces other forms of AA. It's just upscaling from native res. It beats every past form of AA, including MSAA and SGSSAA.
>>
>>740726410
DLAA needs sharpening on the image and hallucinates detail that isn't there.
It's literally just nvidia proprietary TAA algorithm.
>>
>>740726410
DLAA is TAA+SSAA but at higher performance.
Sadly modern garbage doesn't run well at high resolutions.
>>
>>740726546
and it's better than any other form of aa
>>
>>740719668
I would mog the fuck out of your "MUH NATIVE 4K" by upscaling from 320p to 1080p using DLSS 4.5 preset L
>>
is TAA the one that causes all the ghosting? cause that shit is annoying
>>
>>740720163
It murders performance and isn't essential or even that good looking for the vast majority of games
>>
>>740719485
am I the only one who's just literally never used AA in any game?

>>
>>740719485
mfaa and control panel/nvidia inspector aa ftw
always fun putting on 32x anti aliasing and not losing any fps
>>
>>740726808
If you played any high budget game in the last decade it most likely used TAA by default.
>>
>>740719485
I swear to God that TAA was created specifically to make a problem (blurry ass games) that the sharpening filter in DLSS and DLAA works to correct.
Those upscalers look worse than native res in games without TAA. But through some retarded divine alchemy half of every game over the last several years has mandatory TAA. So you gotta use the special sauce to unfuck the visuals.

DLSS resolves a cleaner and more stable image than TAA even at lower resolutions. God bless Nvidia seriously.

>play UE5 game
>PC is strong enough to render everything natively
>if you don't have DLSS on every shadow effect and the hair on every character looks like shit
>>
>>740726938
Well you can invent better anti-aliasing if you're so smart.
>>
>>740727137
Maybe you can optimize your game assets so you don't get 1pixel shimmers on a metallic surface because you bought some garbage off the unreal store.
Valve uses MSAA for Alyx and CS2 and it looks great and run great.
>>
>>740726938
Games are build around TAA, transparencies are just dithering. Shadows? Dithering.
Foliage? Again dithering. There is a lot of sub-pixed detail for no fucking reason. TAA is band-aid solution for shitty graphics.
This is why in many games you can't disable TAA, at least without mods.
I hate this blur filter. It murders textures and adds a lot of motion blur.
No wonder people like newer versions of DLSS because it looks significantly better as long as you don't use 1080p output.

>>
>>740726593
"Modern garbage" runs way better than what the "past garbage" used to run on that time period's hardware. There was a point when 60 fps was considered high.
>>
>>740726410
DLAA is still too blurry, which is what additional downscaling solves
>>
>>740728237
Change your DLAA transformer model. The heavier presets make even 1080p look pristine but the performance WILL tank.

>>740728237
It's not DLAA that's blurry. It's 1080p. The two aren't related. Native 4k DLAA isn't blurry at all.
>>
>>740728463
I've played around with different presets and they still introduce some amount of blurring which wasn't there to begin with
>>
>>740728578
You sure you even did it properly? Like when I play DRG with whatever their default DLAA is I can see the texts in the lobby blur every time I move but when I switched to K-preset I do not see the blur anymore.
>>
>>740728017
Depends on your time scale.
PS4 had very shitty hardware, up to PS2 every cucksole generation was a huge leap in terms or graphics.
PS3/X360 had improved graphics but had awful performance.
Games mostly target console hardware as the lowest common denominator.
Also by modern garbage I mostly mean UE5 games. Because studios that still use their in-house tech are able to create great looking games with decent performance.
Current gen consoles were a huge leap in terms of hardware, unlike last gen.
Many faggots here are still using decade old hardware expecting God knows what performance.
I still think image quality decreased drastically ever since TAA got introduced.
There are not many games with decent TAA.
>>
>>740728548
I find it very funny that's there's so much grain and dithering on your image.
Everything is undersampled. God I hate unreal engine.
>>

>>
>>740720821
Isn't MSSAA cheaper at that point?
>>
>>740731185
Nvidia was not responsible for the death of MSAA. MSAA was always going to die as it has some serious weaknesses and - when you do it fully (unlike forza 5 and 4 for example which have a very sparse msaa coverage) it gets dis proportionally computationally expensive as resolution climbs. MSAA at 1080p can make a gpu run a scene slower (and look visually inferior) to the same scene at 4k without MSAA and obviously the lower the resolution the more MSAA is needed to combat aliasing.
>>
>>740732462
You truly are retarded. The game has vertex shaders that compensate for TAA jitter, and these shaders cause photo mode to freak the fuck out when the game is still. Holy fuck, you don't even comprehend English. Absolute fucking retard.
