it's not funny anymore where is it
>>
It doesn't exist, anon. Bethesda just showed it because they were getting serious backlash from Fallout 76. So they used it to shut people up (and it worked lel). Just like Blizzard announcing Diablo IV after the whole China shenanigans.
>>

They only just finished working on Starfield. It takes them at least 6 years to make a game these days. You do the math.

You don't want a modern Bethesda Elder Scrolls game. It's better this way.

Bethesda not having a new Fallout game to capitalize on the success of the Fallout tv series was a major blunder as well. Is their plan now to just keep trying to sell repackaged versions of Skyrim and Fallout 4 over and over again? Surely people are tired of those games by now
>>
I just want scrapped concepts made after Skyrim and before artists were shackled to 76 and Starfield to come out one day
There has to be some pre-prod of that time
They HAD to have started some pre-prod of a previous concept of ES6 circa post Skyrim release, right?
>>
>>740761395
>why have modern devs forgotten how to make games?
because they outsource everything, fire expensive senior employees, hire 11 managers that don't communicate, hire cheap juniors for peanuts who become jaded instantly, have to answer to shareholders, have to consult the woke police, etc. basically, it's total inefficiency and waste, even though the original goal was efficiency and no waste.
>>

I don't have Fallout 4 installed anymore but Steam was kind enough to give me an update on the latest changes for Fallout 4: creation workshop dlc! Paid mods!
In my humble opinion Bethesda is fucking over. They've pivoted towards being hollowed out scum but they're also incompetent, so we can't even expect functional cancerous gameplay and features.

I think the Microsoft acquisition and covid really fucked Bethesda over. They're several years behind schedule at this point, the Oblivion remaster was supposed to release in 2023. Bethesda stopped being a video game developer and the entire company is a front for money laundering.

Daily reminder that Starfield was exported to India and was "fixed" by Bethesda for 2 years - 1 year if Phil Spencer didn't force them to.
>>
>>740763162
F76 was announced earlier. and starfield was leaked earlier to gauge fan reaction and people were pissed off about
#1 next fallout game being a "hardcore pvp" game and not a "real fallout game"
#2 pissed off that the next major Bethesda game was a new IP and not es6

TES6 announcement was to buy back goodwill among fans just like that anon said. They wanted epople ina positive mood as they talked about their other games.

>>

>>
>>740761816
I have seen concept art of TES 6, I am (or was) a concept artist in the industry until eventually I pivoted into 3d character art and tech art mostly because concept art is horrible both monetarily as well as work hours wise.
A discord friend of mine worked at a Brazilian outsource that did stuff for Bethesda, so I've seen concepts for both Starfield and TES 6.
No mainline Bethesda concept artist is shackled to 76, it has a separate team and is almost entirely outsourced. Bethesda lead concept artists from Skyrim era like Ray Lederrer are fulltime working on TES 6 for years now, not even Starfield.
>>
>>740761816
>>740764690
That being said there is literally nothing interesting to say about TES 6 concept art, it is exactly what everyone is expecting. Mediterranean shores here, underwater caves there, Morocco style cities and cool looking modular ships with different tilesets for different ships.
The only thing of note which I noticed was that the crown architecture had a funny bit where they would deliberately intertwine and meld materials in strange ways, think of it like every building has a gradient of some kind where sandstone bricks transition into marble and that transitions into jade or something, same with clutter you would have a chest that would have multiple materials woven into each other due to religious symbology.
But that was like 4 years ago and I don't know how much has changed since.

So your theory of the case is in the moments after 76 got revealed the backlash was so massive Todd ordered a TES 6 trailer to be ready on 30 minutes?
Interdasting.
Do you also believe Bethesda sabotaged Fallout NV to avoid paying Obsidian a million?

Why don't they just turn Obsidian into the Fallout studio and have them make Fallout 5 and other spinoffs while Bethesda works on TES/Starfield? They're all under Microsoft now. You can easily just bring back Tim Cain, Chris Avellone and all the old talent that worked on the old Fallout games and New Vegas and let them use Bethesda's new Creation Engine. I'm shocked this hasn't already happened. Waiting until the mid to late 2030s for a new Fallout game is madness.
>>
>>740779436
They don't wanna. People inside Bethesda like Fallout (their version of Fallout anyways) and want to work on the setting, why would they give it away to the company they've been unfavorably compared to for 15 years.
Now, daddy Microsoft could force it, but the Obsidian that made NV isn't there anymore, and you can't bring it back no matter what you do. You might get Avellone on board but others like John Gonzalez have long moved on.

In my headcanon, the reason why they haven't put out anything yet is because they're starting all over from scratch.

The abysmal Starfield reception spooked them hard and the numerous Saint Floyd backlashes and bombs in videogames forced them to repivot into another location.

tl;dr they really developed Hammerfell up to a certain point but since bracks don't sell and they're under pressure to perform after Starfield bombing they're instead making the sequel to Skyrim.
>>
>>740782770
they're probably flipflopping on AI usage. I'll bet they had a Starfield-like build and scrapped it, rebuilt with AI tools, then scrapped that when slop hating became popular public opinion. They don't know what to do now.

Looking from the outside Bethesda seems to be run like one of those businesses in which EVERYONE there except the guy in charge can tell that the guy in charge doesn't know how to do his job and yet nobody says nothing because the guy in charge doesn't take criticism and so the business goes to shit.

Considering how many copies Skyrim sold, the whole "The Elder Scrolls" series should've been priority for the whole Bethesda. But no, for some reason, they decided to make the Fallout series their focus, even after Fallout 4 and Starfield ending their development.

I think they're afraid of their actual input on this, because the only thing they can offer and people would actually like is the lore, because games like The Witcher 3, Dark Souls and Zelda Breath of the Wild

For a long time Bethesda focused on keeping dev costs low since they were effectively subsidizing every other Zenimax studio, most of which were losing money. After Microsoft acquired them, they got a huge infusion of money and have rapidly expanded. One of the chief complaints about Starfield development was how much time veterans spent creating tutorials for new developers and many ex-devs have commented that Creation Engine isn't as developer friendly as e.g. Unreal. So according to rumors, CE3 spent quite a bit of time improving the tooling to include many of the same usability enhancements as UE5.

>meandering open world that would unironically be better used as set dressing if half its distractions didn't exist: the likes of bandit outposts, smugglers' caches, monster nests etc. are all close enough that you're constantly glued to the minimap instead of the environment, and you likewise won't ignore them due to giving XP, loot, skill points when it comes to Places of Power and sometimes those "swim to a nearby area and find the treasure" side quests
>horrible loot system and non-existent economy, where you're not only not penalized but rather encouraged to loot everything that isn't nailed down for the rare chance you find super duper rare leather in someone's shack; that in turn leads you to selling most of the loot ending with dozens of thousands of coin even in the early game essentially nullifying another gameplay aspect: that of the bargaining of contract rewards, because you don't care about coin anymore
>on that note, due to the fucked up loot scale 9 times out of 10 the new sword you'll find in a chest will actually be worse than the one you have equipped at the time; and that is true as well for plot related, unique swords like the one crafted for you after a quest chain centered entirely around the blade or the one you're given by Crach for the Battle of Kaer Morhen
>all armors and weapons stop mattering the second you reach Lvl. 14 and get to craft your first Witcher armor, from that point forward it's an objective fact you're better off changing from Witcher gear to Witcher gear ignoring the other 99% of loot
>level caps are horribly thought out, with you leveling far faster than you can complete world encounters meaning even if you do the lowest level quest at any given time you'll still overlevel and thus, all lower quests from that point forward will give you 1% of the experience points. If a normal quest would give you 250 points, doing it overleveled (something you have no control over) will make it so you get 1 point instead

I doubt it. Skyrim was comfy winter, comparatively I hate summer, the heat and sand.

where in the trailer do you see sand?

What did they talk about? Did todd howard use his white boy rizz on asha to get more dev time on tes 6?
>>
More time has passed from the teaser to today, than from Skyrim to the teaser and
Oblivion to Skyrim.

you already had enough sand in morrowind

They have to retroactively remove all the wokeshit they added before 2023 otherwise it will bomb and Bethesda will go tits up. Of course this means going back to the drawing board basically. It's not coming out before 2030, maybe even 2035. It will be perhaps the most incongruous mess of a game ever seen.
>>
>>740810421
Morrowind had no sand in it, only ash

>smear campaign
you mean exposing shit for being shit?
>>
>>740757495
Next year minimum, stupid.
4 years of Dev between games is the usual for BGS.
We might start to get 5 years with Microsoft's influence.
>>
>>740810654
Why would they add wokeshit in the first place?

>>
>>740811443
Yeah say what you will about Bethesda but they never really delved into social politics like most other devs in the 2010s and early 2020s like BioWare and whatnot. At most you had some tranny shit in ESO (not developed by Bethesda but rather ZeniMax Online Studios) and the stupid ass PR move with the FAHCKING PRONOUNS that didn't change the game in any way.

>>740811348
Yeah, maybe they'll actually begin developing the game next year. And maybe we'll see it before 2040, if Bethesda crunches hard.

Why does the right always pretend that most hate "wokeshit" when it's literally only them (and even then they still buy it)?

People give Bethesda a lot of crap but they're one of the only RPG devs that isn't totally creatively bankrupt when it comes to their settings (discounting Oblivion).
>>
>>740810269
it'll most likely be Daggerfall 2, so the whole iliac bay ie mountains, ocean and desert

And Skyrim-->TESVI will have the least changes, and be the most similar ot the previous entry I imagine.

But Skyrim was the worst setting because they didn't even try to make a unique fantasy world. It's literally just Scandinavia. Oblivion was a boring and generic high-fantasy world but it at least WAS a fantasy world; and Shivering Isles was actually pretty interesting.
>>
>>740761319
i would be perfectly ok with morrowind quality games, in terms of size and graphics. i mean in 15 years we could have had like 3 or 4 or those or even more. imagine how good games would be if that was considered normal.
>>
>>740814789
At least Skyrim had actual map and biome design and wasn't just endless copy-pasted SpeedTree forests.

Unironically does anyone here still look forward to TES6 after every game Beth has released?
>>
>>740761319
The gap between Arena and Skyrim was 17 years. If TES VI does not come out within the next 2 years it will have been a longer wait between Skyrim and TES VI than Arena and Skyrim.
>>
>>740814404
Witcher's art direction is pretty good but not as good as Skyrim IMO. You can tell its got slavic roots but it still feels a little generic. Feel similarly about Cyberpunk. It just feels like a genre mishmash without its own distinct look.
>>740814789
Bruh, Skyrim is plenty fantasy. Like a solid third of the people you come across aren't even human, there's giants roaming around, dragons, undead, mages, etc. It just has an ounce of subtlety rather than placing a Minotaur from a DnD guidebook into a speedtree forest.
>>
>>740815705
I gotta see where it all ends, im certain todd retires after VI
>>
>>740815089
In theory, an interesting society of shapeshifting cannibalistic elves with carefree personalities living in tree-cities
In practice, they'd just go out of their way to have the Bosmer resemble your stock fantasy wood elves because Bethesda actively dislikes the fact they ever made setting anything more than just bottom of the barrel generic fantasy

They aren't super popular, but they still make money. ESO is basically "waiting until ES6" retirement home, which is why 6 will never happen.
>>
>>740757495
they probably had to redo everything when they realized ppl didn't like starfield
>>
>>740816653
Because it's true, literally the reason Skyrim did not have the Nordic religion in it was because the lead director thought that the complex way religion works in Tamriel from Morrowind onwards was a mistake and everybody should just worship the eight divines instead

>>

Answer still stands, they'd get rid of the multiple khajiit forms as already set up by the void nights and have them be just literally just indians but cats
>>

The company size paradox.
Companies hire more employees to get more work done and speed up production.
But past a certain point, the company growing too large makes it so it also becomes more disorganized and chaotic, which slows production down to slower than it did when they were a small company with few employees.
