I don't think it will feel like this.
It'll feel identical to that.
It'll feel like an imitation of that.
They'll definitely get rid of the fixed camera segments in favor of a quick cutscene or pan out to show you a POI.
it will feel a botw mod
>>740781503it'll feel better than that.
It will be that but better
No, it won't, OP. The sooner you accept that the easier it'll be when it comes out.
>>740781503You think Nintendo will EVER return to that tone for a Zelda game? I honestly don't think they can even if they wanted to.
guess who's going to ruin another generation
How bad will the censorship be?
>>740782614This is true. I've been angry at Age Regulations since I was 12 and now our governments are doing even more of that type of shit... They're censoring creativity because they thought 8 year old me couldn't take a few zombies in my kids game. It completely deterred me from finishing it until I was 10 but the truth is I fucking loved how scary video games were as a child, and I get very angry thinking about all the way they've been made safe and sanitized just so kids can play brain-sucking slop while being social on their discords. And now they wanna ban kids from playing until they're 16 because Fortnite has categorized "video games" as exploitative and unsafe for kids. I miss when it was only the sports jocks who mocked their peers for playing too much computer, and not the government inserting a digital lockdown. I blame China for this, and all the socialist/commie retards from my generation who are now deeply rooted in NGOs and governments.
>>740782919lots of fancy words and kids will still get a naked chick every other game that will be their sexual awakening.the real problem is that gore is rampant, gambling in vidya is everywhere with gachas and spooky vidya keeps eating shit

>>740784307If you have Switch or Switch 2, the NSO app version is great, although it's not the 1.0 US ROM, so they're slightly censored. If you play on PC or Deck, just find the latest version of Project64, install the GlideN64 plugin and make sure you render it in native res with dithering and the US ROM.Ship of Harkinian kinda sucks imo. Recompilations have more bugs than people admit, and the game is meant to play 20fps and it doesn't feel bad just because it looks choppy.

>>740785150Holy crap, I hate flurry rush so much. I like parrying, but they could do something better with the counterattack, something more satisfying. Mashing the button to hit a ton of times the enemy and destroy the weapon durability, while barely doing damage to silver enemies is the opposite of rewarding.
>>740785210>WAKE UP YOU FUCKING NIGGER
>>740781503I still say that the game should have forced you to actually buy the tunics with your enhanced wallets once you unlock the shops as an adult. Giving you the tunics straight up, but then forcing you to get new one by buying it if you actually lose it is a weird thing to do that feels like a forced compromise because some people didn't happen to collect skultulas. The way the game is still technically beatable without the tunics is cool.
>>740783349The textures are lower res than I'd like, but the overall composition and atmosphere that creates is insane, and it's incredible that they managed to pull that off on the N64.
>>740785150The concept of Flurry Rush is fine. It's just the implementation in both games that feels so incredibly lousy, like "Look at what I put together in my Unity game!"
Realistically the remake won’t likely do anything TOO stupid. Nintendo is smart enough to understand the prestige OoT and so will probably play it safe so don’t expect anything like the FF7 “remake”. Chances are the combat will be more like BoTW’s, some attempts to shoehorn in the lore of the later games, some half baked voice acting stuff like that. What I’m more scared off is this game doing well enough for Nintendo to try remaking Majora cause they’ll 100% fuck that up
>>740784147technically you should include mammals and every other vertebrate in the group "fish" in order for said group to be scientifically correct.which makes the statement "there are fish with breasts" true.otherwise the group "fish" is not a valid group and has little meaning.this justifies fish having breasts

>>740782614>>740781503They literally chose a gritty, textured style for the remake. It's obvious they're aiming for an appropriate tone for the game. Light and shadow are very important in Oot, and im convinced dead hand will look absolutely horrifying in the remake.
>>740785495>>740785683The major issue is that it can't be disable, has no cooldown, is far too easy to trigger, and freezes time.If it were a special ability restricted to some sort of resource (I.E. a specific weapon or stamina) and could be activated whenever, making it possible for the player to fuck up the timing, it would be okay. I mean it's still a boring skill, but at least it would be optional and require a second brain cell to utilize.Instead, I have to fucking endure this dumbass shit every single fucking time I just want to fight an enemy in real-time. Between that and the retarded ass bullet time for bows, this game can go fuck itself to death. Some of if not the worst combat design in the subgenre of medieval-fantasy action-adventure.Not to mention the enemy design/AI is retarded, so every single fucking encounter is just Link hitting a punching bag for as long as his arsenal of toothpicks and unlimited, explosive anal beads allow him to.Do the faggots who make these games even play them? Holy Christ just fuck my shit up famalam.

You're fucking dumb.
>>740784836>playing above 20 fps is bad actuallyI legitimatley have to clarify why this makes sense. 20FPS isn't good in itself, but the original version of OoT has amazing animation that was made, similar to how anime is (because Japs are good at this), to look really bloody good at the frame rate it happened to be, even if it could have been higher. So when you increase the framerate and interpolate it, it is kind of like interpolating a lower FPS movie to higher FPS, it artificially smooths out motion that was intended to be displayed in a particular way yes, I'm well aware that it's the graphics transformation data, and not the pixels, that are being interpolated. Now, to counter people's objections, yes, western FPS use frame interpolation to smooth their animations to 60+ FPS. But unlike OoT, they have western slop animation that isn't of the same quality of OoT's when it is displayed at its native framerate.
>>740784783Nintendo is still the one calling the shots and considering how autistic they are with “brand identity” don’t expect them to allow something like the Zoe’s suddenly wearing pants. Just don’t expect any fat fish tits either or for god’s strongest Rutofag to try and hijack the plot for her

>>740786580The clip gives every indication that they're sending this to be made by tards. They chose to introduce the game like this, and people are judging it appropriately.

>>740787075>The gameplay in theory is just going to be OoT againHow do you know that?
>>740786996See >>740787075>>740787083That's the whole mark, not the Triforce of Courage mark. Nice try but you're not getting a gotcha from me regarding Zelda lore no matter how you try and reword it. Link should not have the Triforce of Courage mark on his hand in the trailer if he doesn't even have it yet.
>>740787181Call me crazy but I may have played it before.
>>740786114Bullet time for bows only activates when you're in the air. It's unwieldy but it's somewhat like you requested in that it's slowdown you are in full control of.You're right on the money about the flaws with BotW style combat though. Damage has to come from an actual weapon to scale and all of your weapons are disposable. Throw that on top of the fact that every tier seems to basically double enemy HP. Top tier Bokoblins have 720 health, more than the 600 of a Stone Talus like you could fight on the Great Plateau, and over 50x Bokoblins' original 13 HP.For reference, branches deal 2 damage, so it takes 7 shots to kill the weakest Bokoblin with the weakest weapon you get. Meanwhile, the highest raw damage per hit you can get is 78 with a savage Lynel crusher, and even though you'll likely be fighting silver Bokoblins long before you have an endless supply of those, they'll still take more hits to kill that top tier Bokoblin than branches do bottom tier ones.
>>740783349You barely notice on an old TV. It's only really a problem now (but that's what high res texture packs are for).I don't think I even knew those backgrounds were pre-rendered at the time. The effect was seamless.
>>740787281You played the original, not the Switch 2 remake.

Im so hyped to see ocarinafags see their favorite game’s discussion get corrupted by the remake and ultimately replaced by it
>>740787352And?
>>740787196Still doesn't make sense. That is art from Zelda 1.... Which is a sequel to OoT.The original series wentOoT -> (Majora's Mask) -> ALttP -> (LA) -> Zelda 1 -> Zelda 2And then they made Wind Waker. In a sense OoT was the first "culmination" game in the franchise.
>>740787083LoZ/AoL Link had that mark in AoL because a spell cast by the great king, the most recent wielder of the whole Triforce at the time, deemed that Link to be the worthy successor. It wasn't something from birth or related to having the Triforce already.

>>740787381>>740787387Avatarfagging is against the rules toxotanny.
>>740787075>The gameplay in theory is just going to be OoT againI doubt that.Yes, Star Fox is basically the same game, but Star Fox 64's gameplay (as far as rail shooters go), is top-notch, and the issues are more about input lag, low resolution that makes it hard to see things, unstable frame rates, etc.Ocarina of Time doesn't have high-quality gameplay. The camera, for example, is completely outdated, and Nintendo will certainly modernize that. And in a game with so much exploration and puzzle-solving, the way you move the camera significantly affects the gameplay as a whole. The combat will definitely be improved, because the action in OOT is a 3/10 at best. They'll also need to overhaul many of the game's systems. It's inconceivable that they'd keep the Skulltulas as they are in the original game, since they serve literally NO purpose, despite being everywhere. They'll have to create a new function for them and reward the player accordingly. In short, Starfox 64 can afford to be the same game in 2026, because it's a quality video game. Ocarina of Time can't afford to do the same...
>>740787196You're going off information from a 5 second teaser trailer and doomposting about it.You know nothing about this remake.
>>740787487>That is art from Zelda 1That's Zelda 2, dumbass.

>>740787206>Ocarina of Time is not a really good game.It is still a really good game. Play through it, then play through WW, TP and BotW and unless you're a gameplayfag you're probably not even going to say BotW is better.I know plenty who played OoT and TP only recently thanks the HD port and NSO versions of OoT, and they almost always end up saying it was better than BotW, and that even though it's close, OoT wins out against TP because it has such a purity to it.

>>740787585Because it's Ocarina of Time.
>>740787418It might not be the same, anonThat's the point
>>740787516OoT's gameplay is just as good as Star Fox 64's.Calling the combat "3/10" in a franchise containing stinkers like BOTW where the game barely cares whether you're hitting an enemy or their shield is insanity.
>>740787736the gameplay of OoT fucking sucks
>>740787736Wow, I guess Metroid on NES and Zero Mission on GBA play exactly the same.
>>740787813Kinda weird that you're shilling a game that you think fucking sucks then.
When was the last time Nintendo didn't do a "1 to 1" remake?
>>740787516The camera isn't part of the gameplay. If they change combat and puzzle mechanics (which they may well do), then they're changing the gameplay.>the camera changes the gameplay as a wholeNot really. You could always point it wherever you wanted. OOT isn't Resident Evil. You always had all kinds of conveniences like lock-on and first person aiming. You could always tap Z to lock the camera directly behind you.I swear people are just bad at playing this game, and think it has some kind of impossible arcane design. The bow and bomb throwing controls are infinitely less of a hassle than Fromsoft games.
>>740787828Yeah essentially. You run, you jump, you shoot, you get upgrades, you explore, etc. Was that your big gotcha? Try again.
>>740787813You are wrong. Some bits of the puzzle and enemy design suck. The gameplay as a whole and the ideas it presents are stellar. People were so sure the next Zelda would be great for 10 years because of how much potential OoT's mechanics held, Nintendo failed to explore those mechanics and blamed it on "da formula".
>>740787849>>740787901it sucks, TotK is the peak of the series and the remake will have the same gameplay
>>740781503Bros give me your honest opinion. I never played OoT but watched my friend play it really briefly as a kid. It looked cool as fuck back then. I always wanted to play it just because it's the game everyone talks about and it feels like a part of gaming history. It has aura as the kids these days say. But if I play it as an adult will I actually enjoy it or will it just kill the hype and magic?
>>740787695Yes, but OoT is specifically meant to be an "origin story" of the Triforce and Ganon. The whole story arc apart from its amazing examination of "time" is about the Zelda lore and how the Triforce came to become a constant within incarnations of Link, Zelda and Ganon, and we get the whole development of that, from Ganondorf just being "a thief" who searches for the Triforce, how that splits it apart and how it then choses the 3 of them, so that they will reappear in any OoT adjacent sequel. In OoT Zelda uses her wish with the Triforce to wish Link out of her future, and back to his past, and then...Actually you know, what the fuck, I don't think it makes that much sense, but at least OoT has Link just being a boy at first, and then it's implied that it's his involvement that makes him the chosen one who gets to have the triforce of courage only. And then later it's completed somehow. But given what a reveal it is, it makes no sense to show it glowing while he's sleeping in the forest, unless they're doing a FFVIIR style faux sequel that actually takes place after the end of the original game, after Link was whisked back to his own time.

I do think remixing some of the puzzles for the remake would be prudent. We've come a long way from "look up in first person and shoot the eye on the ceiling". Puzzles like that were literally just there to train people to think three dimensionally. We're way past that.
>>740788194when can he start

>>740788084Just play the game, and stop letting people muddy your expectations. The more over-hyped you are on anything, the more you're going to be like "was that it?"
>>740788198That I agree with. OoT was at its highest when the puzzles were actual puzzles. The fact that the games afterward consistently refused to make difficult puzzles was because of a misunderstanding of OoT's design, I feel.
>>740788159What? More detailed graphics and the ability to grab ledges and crouch? They didn't change it much and you know it you disingenuous little cock sucker.
>>740788084I recently saw someone stream it who is almost 40 and he loved it. But don't expect you to get the "magic" just by walking around and experiencing every moment in it. Early on it will give you a sense of wonder through its musicality and not knowing what comes later. In the middle it can feel a bit like a chore, when the dungeons require more manual thinking than any modern game would offer. But it still isn't hard. It's a really easy game and if you find it difficult, you're actually bad at games imo. It's more the contemplative pacing of the game that you need to muster, and then that pays off.You haven't experienced the game if you haven't finished it. It's like Mass Effect 1 where all its best stuff happens near the end, and all the early stuff is context, buildup, and occasionally dramatic but not enough to convince you it's a masterpiece until you look back at the game as a whole.

It has weak parts but it's compelling in its own right and does particular things that the future portion doesn't emphasis. But the game does get better as you progress through it and gain more freedom and reaches its apex around half way through.
>>740788976We found him, the gaylord.
>>740788843>normalfags internalize "Navi talks too much and is annoying" from jokes made by actual players>normalfags decide to solve this by treating her like a windows popup and pressing whatever they have to to shut her up ASAP without reading a single word if they can help it>normalfags miss out on obvious hints because they're delivered by the "bad character">normalfags think this is a fault with "Zelda companions" and start shitting their pants over stuff like Midna tooIt's all so tiresome. Removing Navi would embolden these fucks so I hope they don't.
>>740788991Yeah, as a kid, I identified as kid Link and liked playing those parts. Now I maybe have a slightly higher appreciation for the message of "one day you're going to be big, and all of the cosy places you used to know are going to be dead and filled with zombies"
>>740788194The ToT is cool because it's this solid object that isn't affected by the changes occurring around it and remains this constantly integral and pristine bastion.
ywn be 7 years old again
>>740788523It's because Nintendo is most closely compared to Activision in terms of studio and budgeting, where they do make expensive products but never to a "Sony" or "EA" level. They minn max their production costs and especially voice acting is cut to its bare minimum requirements. This is why Pauline is the only dubbed character in DK Bananza so they voiced all characters but only Pauline's voice got to be re-recorded for localization, and it's why they found a replacement for Charles Martinet despite Mario Games only having a couple of lines per game. They also went with "Cup of Tea Productions" which is an LA booth only ran by 4 people, and is the Fast Food of the VA scene, typically used for anime game dubs, and tend to find the usual scene actors like Sam Riegels or Liam OBrien, or just someone from Nintendo Treehouse, to do the VA coaching, so what you get is VA Slop
>>740787763I disagree.Star Fox 64, aside from the issues with the crappy hardware it was released on, is a pretty solid arcade shooter. That genre of games was quite advanced in 1997.OOT, on the other hand, was released at a time when people weren't quite sure what to do with 3D adventure games. This is quite evident in the game's various limitations. The PC ports of both games make it clear, at least to me, that Star Fox's gameplay hasn't aged a bit, while Ocarina's is pretty bad.>>740787895Yes, the camera is part of the gameplay, especially when it's directly linked to the character's movement. An extreme example is a first-person shooter, where you aim at enemies by literally controlling the game's camera. In games like BOTW, manipulating the camera is an integral part of your movement. Early in that game, there's a section where you need to build a bridge by cutting down a tree, and the way 99% of players will correctly align Link with the tree is by using the camera.A modern camera in Ocarina of Time would significantly change the way you play the game.
>>740789146I mean, it's a stone cathedral, and the time skip is seven years.
>>740789146>The cunny templeWhat did they mean?
>>740789204>"Sony" or "EA" levelThe fuck have either of them made that compare to the prestige Nintendo have achieved?
>>740789253Right, but his point is still the same. Imagine how they’ll do it in the remake.>ToT looks like your boy standard ruined building complete with RE2 desaturation/fog because it’s le dystopia
>>740789092you're a gaylord, Adam and Eve not Adam and Glugglug
>>740789234>A modern camera in Ocarina of Time would significantly change the way you play the game.It really wouldn't. Wind Waker already had a freely controlling analogue camera, and it changed all of nothing. >you can tap the stick to look right, instead of moving right, and tapping the Z buttonThis is not a revolution. It's mild convenience.
>>740788991>The child Link part doesn't suck. It has weak partsthat's why i said a "bit weak".
>>740789234>OOT, on the other hand, was released at a time when people weren't quite sure what to do with 3D adventure games. This is quite evident in the game's various limitations. And yet the basics of how it plays remain crystal clear and functioned as the basis for how all 3D Zelda gameplay was designed for 10+ years. It works fine, OoT with a better camera and no more of the puzzles that are just "can you look around 3D space and identify what you need to touch/hit/shoot" is still OoT.
>>740788281>getting pissy because an anon asked for a recommendationkwab
>>740789234>while Ocarina's is pretty bad.The core of the gameplay is honestly amazing, and in many ways superior to most modern games, but it drops the ball in making most of the dungeons too basic and enemies too passive and dumb for the sophistication of its mechanics to matter. It's an incredible game, that could have been better than it was, and the remake should have been the thing that properly realized this, but it looks to unfortunately be outsourced bullshit.
>>740789346Yes, I was deliberately doing that as a joke
>>740789107Okay enjoy yourHEY LISTENHEYHEADS UP*navi button*>you should remember to take breaks>I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO LINK!>hey remember saria? you can talk to her with the ocarina!!
>>740788949Modern audiences
>>740789543ThisIf you want to call the combat weak, I think that's both accurate and missing the point.Enemy design could largely be improved, but short of things like the Lizalfos and Stalfos, combat isn't really something the game is central around (and I think Lizalfos and Stalfos are fine anyways). Most of the enemies aren't here to be a whole thing, they're to be a hazard and a distraction. There's a reason there's one button primarily used for fighting, and three buttons that see most of their use in not-fighting, with occasional applications in fighting.
>>740789802At the same time I think OoT has possibly the strongest grasp on what your items should be able to contribute to combat out of all the 3D games. It's similar in this regard to the 2D games even with how many items will at least have some application in stunning enemies or throwing out a hitbox at a time and place you normally can't. Often it'll be a slightly unique interaction too, like the megaton hammer flipping fire slugs.
>>740789107In actuality Navi is very hands-off compared to the level of hand holding people are accustomed to in everything now. You play any AAA game now, and it's pretty much going to be hours of "focus, M" walk and talk.>woah, those are enemies up ahead. You might want to fight themYeah, thanks. I wouldn't have guessed.>by the way, we marked everything in yellow, so you don't get lost
this is nintendos chance to get the remaining adult men who are not manchilds to buy their console yet i think they will still fucked it up. just the teaser looked half assed. and they will for sure make the game for toddlers and remove/alter anything scary
>>740789204Thanks for the explanation, I do think another factor is the script, you can put anything to text but some stuff just sounds unnatural when you say it out loud.
>>740789664>3 callouts before you press the Navi buttonWhen does this happen? The callout only happens when the button appears, doesn't it? Are you repeatedly flipping your targeting between enemies without killing them just to try and provoke more annoying voice clips?
>>740789543Something I always felt strongly about "Zelda formula" games is that they don't live up to the potential of their own mechanics, but the diversity of mechanics is what makes them great games.I mean it in the sense that Nintendo consistently struggled to build out these mechanics progressively to the campaigns while justifying further use as new shiny item mechanics replace and thus fail to escalate prior ones, but this way of developing a game is so fundamentally different to how "you're supposed to make games" like 90% of the AAA slop we get, and this is precisely why Zelda games was like a safe haven to me, while I was getting GTA IV in 2008, while I played Skyrim in 2011, and while I played The Last of Us in 2023 because as good as those games are, they're very... Standard and very similar to other games in the same genres mechanically. And Zelda games are just Zelda. This is also why BotW depresses me, because it's like, we never got to truly see a Zelda Formula game (and it doesn't have to be Zelda or even Nintendo) done modernistically and to perfection. You can say a lot about BotW but it is not a "modernization" of the Zelda way of developing games. The whole point of this way of making a game is that you unlock mechanics progressively, a bit like in Metroidvania, but where it ebbs and flows within some form of an Open World and not literally Dark Souls esque labyrinthine level design. The reason Zelda is distinct from Castlevania is because Zelda is the compromise between a traditional action/exploration game and a Metroidvania. It has progressive mechanics that somehow need to fit into an open space, and then use isolated dungeons like "Game Levels" but where those levels are completely emergent to the game world, and not Mario portals. That's a lot of ifs and buts just to shield myself against a barrage of contractions who think Zelda Formula isn't something special to video games.
>>740787506lol retard
i trust them to make a good gamethe only bad 3d zelda game was WW and skyward sword before the switch versioni have almost full confidence this remake is going to be amazing
>>740781503Not only will it feel like that it’ll look like that and say that
>>740790000I played FFXVI, and there were actual pop-ups telling me I can get loot from enemies and use money to buy things. That's where we are now.
>>740783242This bitch is 100% going to get censored
>>740790180Every Zelda should have a B campaign that remixes puzzles and cranks up enemy difficulty.I don't know why this never really took off as a thing. They toyed with the idea in Zelda 1, and then Master Quest. Wind Waker just gives you cosmetic changes.
>>740781503they will absolutely need a different art style to convey and modernize that rough dark fantasy look from the OG. any newer zelda looks like a cartoon, but if they do choose such a bold approach and make the remake look closer to a fromsoft game they'll alienate modern fans, just like wind waker made oldfags seethe. it's a pretty shit place to be for a game designer.
>>740789963I think Wind Waker did it best by far. There's the same amount of extra caves and off-site areas to the main 3 hub islands you can reach once you have specific items, is needed for the Triforce Quest to top off all dungeons when you have all items, and every item serves a specific function in combat, like abilities would in a turn baser RPG. Boomerang is always a guaranteed hit but not a guaranteed damage, but it will stun larger enemies. Hookshot doesn't generally stun but it can stagger or pull them over to you, especially flying enemies. Grapple Hook steals the unique item each enemy type carries. Skull Necklaces from Moblins and Joy Pendants from Bokoblins. Hammer can AOE stun enemies and take out frozen ones. Leaf can also knock down flying enemies or push people back if they're out on sea and you just want them to fall in.WW solved the issue of providing a dynamic to every item mechanic, and then still giving them extra usage outside. It's the only Zelda where I felt that early items never became fully obsolete.
Unless they try to BotW it somehow it should be pretty hard to fuck up.
>>740789371Glugglug is really hot though. Eve can have the snake
>>740788147>In OoT Zelda uses her wish with the Triforce to wish Link out of her future, and back to his past, and then...What? That never happens, Zelda doesn't get the full Triforce, nor does an individual part of the Triforce grant a wish. Zelda used her powers as the seventh Sage (presumably the Sage of Time) with the Ocarina of Time to create the Child Timeline and send Link there.
Remember, official Zelda canon is that Link dies in Ocarina of Time and then the original games take place.

>>740791402It was probably part of the trap to lure Zelda out of hiding. Also, while the interior of the building remains the same, the exterior of the building is partially affected by Ganon's takeover and the devastation of Castle Town.
>>740792324Calm down. Nothing has been "destroyed" it's all still there. Just don't give Nintendo any money for the remake and you will have said your bit.

Some kind of triforce wish was made to preserve his life. I suspect a bootstrap paradox, the series is good for those now.

>>740793557The Triforce of Cancer
>>740793921Again. How are they raping it? You are implying when this remake comes out, you can no longer plug in an N64 and play Ocarina of Time? Or better yet play Ship of Harkinian and play a modded idealistic version on your PC. Nintendo can't take that away from you. So it shouldn't worry you. Just don't buy it and move on.It sounds like your dichotomous thinking could be making you unnecessarily miserable for no reason. So maybe you are right, maybe I don't understand.
>>740789963I've been playing Harkinian lately, and easily one of the most interesting things is how many child items have great applications as an adult and vice versa.Adult items as child isn't maybe that interesting since you can go most of those places anyways, but shit like the boomerang interacting with Dark Link or gerudo warriors is interesting
>>740793050>The point is the journey. You're like those people complaining that all you get in Mario games is "more stars".

>>740795745TP did not look like that, TP was stylized, this is something else
>>740795682You can, Actually. His leg leather plate thing has the same swircel pattern that is all over the TP art style. It looks very similar to the Zelda HD Experience. Maybe Adult Link will have the same design as TP Link. Actually reminds me I would be rather excited for a TP remake after this, because TP is basically the Code Veronica of Zelda games. So ambitious, but so flawed and all it needs is a few writing changes to become a much better story.https://youtu.be/arHNcSMXaBk
>>740794996As someone who's actively been modding OoT since its source code has been publicly accessible, OoT is a game where a person who has access to a given aspect of it can basically overhaul and redo most of that aspect in the span of a single year. It's a big game, but not so excessively large that a team of people somewhat familiar with it couldn't rebuild something like it in basically a couple of years. Three years and a decent budget, along with access to the original material is reasonably enough for a full remake + extras without serious issues.
>>740795883I hate to tell you this anon but compared to the original Kokiri Tunic this is also stylized>>740795974The cloth gambeson he's wearing over the grass tunic is really TP too, it's giving Young Link armor as a reflection of TP giving the adult tunic a thin chainmail shirt
Link will look closer to this.
>>740795974>So ambitiousAll the ambition seemed to be in the material for the trailers. The actual game is so straightforward and bland in comparison it's insane.

>>740796789It's really cool and handles it quite well in my opinion. When you accept this take on it, you know there's a timeline where he had died, and the instance of Link you're playing as has moved away from it to a different future.

Its like how old shooters you used to be able to blow off peoples heads, it wasnt a big deal with the head was a square with some face texture on it that went red to indicate a wound, now with good graphics you show a head exploding it will traumatize some pussy kid and earn your game an M rating immediately.
Miyamoto still works at Nintendo. He's not gonna let them butcher the early Zelda games. He gets whatever the fuck he wants which is why Pikmin is still treated like a major franchise.
>>740807467He works contractually with Nintendo. he does not work AT Nintendo anymore. He is never in contact with developers anymore, and even explained that for a Mario game all he does now is get shown the final renders of Mario for the game and asked if he approves or disapproves.

The people who made OoT are still at Nintendo and they still care about it. Look at for example, the number 2 in game development, Koizumi, who famously directed its sequel majora's mask. Don't you think he cares?
>>740807625>200 hoursi think you mean 4 hours. 3 if youre fast. the reality is that botw and totk are contentless deserts that rely only on gimmicky collect-for-no-reason shit like the golden shits to pad the game out. if you actually play the game directly and dont do pointless 'wandering' bullshit, the game is 3-4 hours long to take out the 4 not-dungeons and beat ganon
>>740808493What the fuck are you talking about? Even if you skipped literally everything getting to and doing the first dungeon would take you like 4 hours. The tutorial alone is at least an hour.
>>740808865>tutorial>an hourbro fucking speedrunners for botw are down to 2 hours to complete the game, glitchless. a regular player who isnt fucking around with useless fluff padding can EASILY do that in 3-4 hours. the tutorial aint shit
>>740809040>>740808865oh and before you try to pull some 'oh i was talking about totk' bullshit, speedrunners for that game are pushing 3 hours now, making it easily possible to complete by a regular player in 4. shut the fuck up, the game has NO REAL CONTENT.
S U A V E M E N T E
>>740786637I actually want that. We already have the original and 3DS versions.
>>740808493>>740809040nta but bad and lame content still takes time and resources to develop. was it a good use of resources? no. but there is a reason it took longer than oot.
>>740781503It's gonna be a lot better than this but if you aren't 8-12 years old it won't hit the same way
>>740809118>If a speedrunner can finish a game in 3 hours a normal player on their first play can do 4what the fuck am I reading
>>740804586I created it just after the deimake announcement
>>740809118Blud speedran life and skipped the object permanence stage lmao
>>740809673You aren't black, Sukhdeep.
>>740781503the atmosphere and mood hold up really well for a game that's been left behind technically I expect them to totally eviscerate it in favor of spectacle and constant effects
>>740809394sure i dont deny that, i'm not saying the game didnt take a long time to makeim saying that botw and totk have no fucking content and use open world bullshit tricks to fool people into thinking it does, and its really a 3-4 hour long game and therefore most certainly not worth 70 god damn dollars or god forbid buying a stupid ass underpowered switch forand i guarantee that if they try to make oot into another open world piece of garbage itll be similari have absolutely no faith in modern day nintendo and fully expect this 'remake' to crash and burn, which may be the single worst thing that could ever happen for nintendo. OoT and super mario 64 MADE nintendo. they are the generationally defining games for millenials. nothign else comes even close to the amount of cultural impact that those two games had, in the world of vidya, and no that includes ps2 games; ps2 was better hardware, but oot and sm64 blew all ps2s games out of the water. including shit like metal gear, which was a masterpiece in and of itself; it still couldnt hold up to just how important oot wasid be happier if they had left it alone and not embarked on this remake project which, given 'modern sensibilities' is GUARANTEED to disappoint. i bet you anything that they wont have the balls to do the gerudo right, among other things. they already censored the moon symbol thing because muslims bitched about it on the switch versions
I'm a grown man that has played oot multiple times and i still can't beat the water temple without a guide
>>740810629Get the water to the middle level and then bomb that one cracked wall that's below the first chest you get on the bottom level. Or have any spatial reasoning skills at all.
