You are now manually reinstalling Skyrim.
>>
How can I reinstall it if I have never had it installed at any point?

Please no, I don't want to go through installing Seasons and figuring out MCO animation conflicts again.

Mod, nigga. There's tons of mods that add hundreds of new zones, quests, equipment, mobs etc

True enlightenment is accepting that the combat will always be mediocre, and that aping the Souls system is terrible. Skyrim is a walking sim.
Alternatively, install Defeat and do non-lethal takedowns and sell your prisoners to the city guards.

Wildlander barely changes anything about the game itself besides Requiem and survival mods. If you want Skyrim with Requiem but more added content, try Lorerim.

I used to use Wabbajack but none are quite what I want anymore. QWEST was the best because it was primarily a LOTD list but with plenty of free slots to do what you want.

I downloaded Tempus Maledictum last night and it's over 253 slots, and I know there's tons of mods I'm never gonna use. What even is the point of Indigo, anyway? It's just a lame parody of Inigo and it takes up a mod slot.

It also has the annoying trio of Remiel, Xelzaz, and Redcap. I enjoy the occasional bit of follower interaction but at a certain point it becomes too much, and these three crossed that line ages ago. I don't want to put my journey on hold because the three stooges had a scripted singing event and got stuck.

A lot of the chosen visual replacers aren't the best either, it really seems to enjoy the ones by eeekie a lot. Some are alright, but I remember an older version of the modlist used eeekie's Serana replacer which is absolute dogshit. I can only conclude Lively is being blackmailed to include so many of those shit replacers.

I never tried LOTD before my latest modlist last year and I can say it's the most overrated mod i've seen. its custom cells and quests are of abysmal quality. If it was limited to the collectathon autism it would be fine but no, they had to add all that mandatory crap that is a pain to play.

>varied attack moves
99% of animation mods conflict with skyrim's design and as such will not only look absolutely retarded, but will clip and hit walls constantly
if you mean player attacks, you'll still be repeating the same 1-6 moves for a 100 hours.
the game is fundamentally not designed for engaging combat, slapping a bunch of animations on it doesn't fix that in any way, shape or form

Skyrim simply isn't good (or bad) enough to mod. It's got a lot of structural problems, spread out over a huge area (mechanically and geographically). So you install 10,000 tweaks to address them all, and the final product is a Frankenstein monster. And that monster is *less* than the sum of it's parts, making it worse than the base game.
(Not talking about the unofficial patch.)

The early devs from a decade ago were retards and bit more than they could chew. A good chunk of the devs onboard today do want the modular Tamriel Rebuilt-style release by chunks but some projects like Roscrea and Cyrodiil are too far gone to go back. For others, like Iliac Bay or Morrwind, chances are after they release their pre-releases circa 2045 they will do region by region updates.

I use an extremely ancient shitty old ENB called aequinoctium. I'd like to use an ENB that was made this decade but all of the "good" ones are super desaturated, washed out, and bleak, and the corresponding weather mods the ENBs are designed to work with make it overcast or raining all the time. But because of how bleak the ENB is, even when its sunny, it still looks overcast somehow.
I wish there was a newer ENB that had lots of color and good lighting.

They have different movesets and reach. Using two handed swords in closed spaces is more difficult because you will hit the walls but they have a good sweeping range in open spaces, daggers and one handed swords have more stabby moves but deal less direct damage. They all have tradeoffs.

They created Elder Scrolls, they didn't create Fallout. Bethesda's devs had an inherit understanding of TES, while with Fallout they just kept consistently fucking the setting over again and again. As bad as some TES narratives might get post-Morrowind, none reach "kid in the fridge" levels of bad. Plus, shitloads of devs that made Skyrim what it is left after it. Joel Burgess for example created the entirety of the Mehrunes' Razor DLC for Oblivion as a proof of concept for making better dungeons, effectively pioneering the switch from Oblivion's samey dungeons to Skyrim's. He also designed and implemented the dragon priest masks and their hidden quest, and secretly created Blackreach in his free time which wasn't in the scope of the game and was added after he basically presented it already finished to the higher ups. He left in 2016. Keep in mind, the studio had 150 people back in 2011, and they managed to make Skyrim in three years. Nowadays Bethesda has 450~500 employees.

I always struggle to find a balance between skin mods that are too airbrushed (pic rel) or too hyper porous.
The fact that most character replacer mods are only designed to look good with one or the other only exacerbates the problem
>>
I was too old for skyrim and im only 32. Morrowind was the game that was out when I was still in the bethesda target demographic (10-15). Fuck that might be generous though, i remember being disappointed by oblivion at 13

I feel like a crazy person for not understanding why no one on this board ever plays or mentions skyrim vr...
Once you play skyrim in vr modded going back to a monitor is like playing on a phone the immersion is truly unparalleled do you guys just not have acess to vr or something? Its honestly mind boggling

A couple of years ago my internet went down all day, and I conveniently had a fresh modded alternate start/hardcore/immersive/no fast travel/yadda yadda Skyrim install ready to play.
I decided to start as a nobody getting into the college of winterhold and I just spent all day being fully immersed in it in a way I haven't been for a very, very long time. It was that uncanny immersive feeling that things were real and I was really there.
I guess the moral of the story is that the internet is evil and completely destroyed my attention span and sense of immersion, and Skyrim has a magic sauce. I should try inducing that feeling more often.

The fact that you aren't aware the same immersion vs window effect can happen in VR really says it all.

Once the novelty wears off VR is just tedious.
I don't want to stand up and waggle around controllers infront of me for hours after coming home from my job.

As someone who's used Wabbajack a lot, it's still not worth it because no modlist will be perfect for you. They'll all have some non-insignificant thing you hate and more often than not, it's a pain to get rid of/fix it.

You basically can't complete the quest without console commands and there hasn't even been an update for over 8 months even though they supposedly have patched a bunch of bugs apparently they want to release them all at once for the 1.0 update but most of the team already left so everyone who worked on it should die.

Also when is the Glenmoril update coming out???!!

Community Shaders. It's performs better than ENB, but it might not reach the look of the higher end ENBs. People whine about CS because of trannies, and usually make up some idiotic take as to why ENB is better. But CS is perfectly fine.

The kick has several conditions to actually knock down like left over stamina, HP and if already staggered.

>No single combat mod makes skyrim combat interesting
This can only mean two things:
1, You dislike the concept melee combat
2, You're lazy and your maximum time spent looking for combat mods is around 1 hour
These two are not mutually exclusive.
It's fucking Skyrim, there are combat mods that mimics most other games if you take the time to look.
