Why are gamers like this?
Film and games are not comparable, shitskin.
>>740789372>d-doesn't know!You are brown.
>Scarface>The Nutty Professor>The Fly>TaxiWhat do these movies all have in common?

>>740789575They need remakes because nobody has ever seen any of those.Probably some 1900s slop.
>>740789272Why are YOU like this? Why did you defend Code Veronica and every other demake from crapcom but suddenly melt down when Nintendo makes a “remake” (not called a remake)? You were even drooling over the idea of an OOT remake before yesterday. Did you suddenly change your mind because now it’s cool to hate remakes? YOU did this. Companies make what people want.
>Video games get remade since the medium's beginning>Zoomers shit their pants in fury and obsess over them 24/7 often pretending demakes are a new conceptWhy? Books, film, songs, and theater performances have been remade to an even greater degree for longer, yet there aren't constant meltdowns over this in communities regarding them. Is it because autistic people are attracted to vidya?
>films get remakes over and over>medium stays the same, file type stays the same, can be played anywhere with a software>videogames get remakes for different video game platform, different hardware, different source code, different engine>can only be played by one or not many hardwares, limitations to one kind of hardware only
>>740789824Zoomers are right remakes are lazy shit. Try making a good game.
>>740789670Wrong. They're all movies that were overshadowed by their remakes. When I tell you to picture the main character of Scarface in your mind, do you picture Paul Muni or Al Pacino?
>>740789272Film=artGames=toys
>>740790054The coffee guy?
>>740789272You should really add examples of stuff like post release movie color grading which everyone hates as analogous to game remasters which ruin the art style. It would really hammer home how low gamer standards are.
>>740789996Hundreds of new games yearly. Why hyperfixate on demakes?
>>740789272Are you sure?
>>740789575Good film remakes like Scarface and The Thing are always complete reimaginings. Remakes in name only. Video-game remakes are usually pointless, cynical, and unoriginal, like the Omen remake or the Robocop remake
9/10 game remakes are better than the original. For the most part, I don't really care about minor art style changes. As long as the game technically runs better that is the absolute most important thing.
>>740790435It looks worse though.
>>740791112>remove film grain>destroy skin texture in the process>fail to add a skin texture back on>fail to even completely degrain it as the blacks are still a total mess>edge detection nonexistentNeeds a few more passes at the bare minimum.
>>740789272Don't slander the robocop remake like that it's actually good
I liked the robocop remake.
>>740789272>film remake>it's taking the original but destroying everything about it including the story, style and actors that made it charming>game remake>it's just the previous game but better quality, available for the current generation
>>740790897>9/10 game remakes are better than the original.what if the original was a 10/10
>>740789272Gamers are idiotic consumers that hate gameplay and desperately want to defend their worthless $1000+ PS5/RTX purchases.
>>740789824NES games weren't available on the SNES and remaking back then was a lot simpler
>>740791112That's what I meant. Then James Cameron said this. The difference is the videogame industry did a better job at training their audience to eat this shit up.
Because video games age terribly
>>740789824>Books, film, songs, and theater performances have been remade to an even greater degree for longer, yet there aren't constant meltdowns over this in communities regarding them. All of those mediums know better than to remake something that people still enjoy in its original form hundreds of years later. Films like Citizen Kane and Shawshank Redemption will never be remade because unlike the game industry, the movie industry has some degree of respect for the people that came before them.Video games are the only medium that are embarrassed at themselves to the degree that they believe everything 10 years or older needs a remake.
>>740795679>All of those mediums know better than to remake something that people still enjoy in its original form hundreds of years later. Films like Citizen Kane and Shawshank Redemption will never be remade?
>>740789575Correct take is >>740790495The few (really not numerous) good remakes in movies, sometimes clearly better than the previous entries, are entirely different films that only share the basic 5 lines synopsis with the "original". Same way the Greeks and French were able to constantly rehash the myths of Hercules/Oedipus or the legend cycles of Charlemagne/Arthur, and the usual best entries came relatively late in the long series of remakes of the same story. In fact all Shakespeare plays of note are remakes of minor authors. Typical vidya remakes are more in line with Emily Wilson new translation of Homer.
>>740789272Which one is the correct version?
>>740789272Live action Lilo and Stich made over a billion. lol
>>740789272people talk more about money than videogames
>>740789272These are just all reasons I can think of. I only partially agree with the first two but the real solution is to either keep games available and allow the fans to release their unofficial updates or just don't throw a bitch fit when fans share and release mods/replacement engines for abandonware.1) Games can have technical issues on newer hardware or be exclusive to discontinued hardware.2) There can be flawed controls or general performance issues that can legitimately be improved through a modern rework.3) They will delist the originals so you can't legally buy them anymore.4) Games are still not as widely accepted as legitimate as movies or books.
>>740789272Gamers are retarded.

>>740798629To fix 1) and 2) you don't have to remake the whole game tho, you can just fix those specific issues3) is stupid capitalism and 4) is people being superficial
