ITT: Shitty tropes in vidya
>Radiation is always a green glow
>>
>void related things are always purple
>>
Radiation is usually not visible in games that bother to use it, because the devs don't have to code any lighting effects and can just play a generic radiation detector audio file for the same effect.
The only notable game that used green radiation that I can think of off the top of my head is the toxic waste in Doom 1.
Mewgenics also has green mutagen/toxic waste puddles.
I guess Toxic Waste might usually be what you're thinking if.

System shock 2 has the green glowie radiation thing and the generic audio detection file. They also innovate on the trope by flashing the screen green when you take radiation damage.

Pył had a proper radiation counter as part of the hud. Otherwise it's almost unnoticeable you're taking damage since radiation doesn't cause pain or make any noises.

Also we crashed some atoms(with no survivors) into each other in a collider and we counted the exploded bits. Turns out they're made of lots of stuff but mostly the protons neutrons and electrons matter for your daily life or understanding. It's pretty complicated stuff unsurprisingly
>>
>>740796109
We first noticed that chemical properties repeat periodically so we could already list them by the number of protons correctly before we even knew what a proton was

AdventureQuest
Destiny
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Dota 2
League of Legends
FFXI, FFXIV
Starcraft
Neopets
Stardew Valley

Only exceptions off the top of my head are Warframe (green), Hollow Knight (black and white), and Starcraft (blue)

Dark Souls
Mario Galaxy
League of Legends
Warframe
Destiny

I could go on for ever 99% of dark magic, dark matter, anti matter, black holes, void creatures and whatever else should be black will be purple because pure black can't be made glowing and is very limiting artistically

I think unrefined uranium and radium aren't all that radioactive. Meanwhile Theodore has a solid slug of plutonium on his lap and is covered in cherenkhov radiation. He's probably dead dead, not waiting to die dead.

magenta doesn't exist in the spectrum
it is entirelly an illusion conjured by the human mind to fill an information void
the colour out of space
>>

were you born with bionic eyes that can see non visible light?

>>740794882
I hate it when games do heal over time effects that get cancelled when you take damage.
You won't be able to use it in battle and between battles all it does is waste your time.
Just give me a heal item that can't be used infight if you don't want to have me abuse it in combat...

AMID EVIL

It's not a far fetch. Purple is considered a "rare" color and is therefor naturally among the strangest of colors. Only natural that weird, eldritch locations also have a purple theme to them.
>>
>>740803806
>>740805851
its just what happens when you produce both red and blue light
magenta and pink(being a less saturated shade of magenta) is unique in being a color that cannot be represented in human vision by a single wavelength because it requires stimulating both blue and red cones
so no it's not an information void, it is probably a natural property of any color vision architecture with more than 2 cone types and if we had cones to see infrared and ultraviolet we would have more such colors.
